Meet Noreen Rana of Titan Clinical Research in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noreen Rana.

Noreen, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I could remember, I have loved science, specifically science of the human body. There is this famous Rumi quote, and it goes “Why do you seek the universe when the universe lies within you.” the first time I read that quote in college, it resonated so deeply with me. That is how I feel about the human body, there is literally galaxies of information that have already been explored however, there is a plethora of knowledge that still needs to be explored within the human body.

Thus, throughout college, I assumed that the only route I could take to further my passion for science and medicine would be to become a Doctor. However, I was extremely fortunate to start working within clinical research in undergrad at Arizona State University. I started my career as a research assistant and I slowly but gradually climbed up the career ladder within clinical research and assumed roles as a research coordinator, research manager and research director for various institutions throughout the United States. I learned that clinical research had a tremendous effect within medicine not only on the micro-level, aiding people in getting better but also on a macro level, I was leading trials that were changing the face of medicine, for example, I was the head of the research department that ran the clinical trials for the 100% cure for Hepatitis C. However, as fortunate as I was to lead different research institutions, I was limited with the amount of research we could do at one time. I knew I could cultivate a team of professionals that could run more trials, effectively and efficiently.

Henceforth, I now co-own and operate clinical research offices in Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada, with my business partner Dr. Yadwinder Dhillon. Our clinics conduct clinical research trials for almost every genre of clinical medicine from wound care, neurology, infectious diseases, pain management, cardiology, pediatrics and many more. Throughout my career experience, I have witnessed astounding miracles with patient treatments. It has been an absolute honor and privilege to be able to serve my communities with advanced treatment options and medical breakthrough therapies.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Climbing up a career ladder is not easy nor fun, you have to step out of your comfort zone and endure extremely difficult situations in the professional world. Especially with being so young, you have to earn the respect of your colleagues and peers who have been working within medicine for decades. Additionally, when I decided to start a clinical research company with my business partner, Dr. Dhillon, I had to quit my six-figure job and opted to take no salary for the first year as it was only my business partner and I working.

I wore almost every professional hat that first year, I was the clinical research coordinator, nurse, data entry specialist and regulatory coordinator. We quickly amassed success and obtained our own office in downtown Phoenix and now have an amazing staff who lead the forefront of our success. Additionally, we purchased a 20-year-old clinical research company in Las Vegas, which we merged into our Phoenix company.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Titan Clinical Research – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our research offices conduct clinical trials with pharmaceutical companies throughout the world. All clinical research studies are closely monitored by the FDA. We conduct clinical research trials for almost every genre of medicine from wound care, neurology, infectious diseases, pain management, cardiology and pediatrics. Our focus is to provide advanced medical therapies and treatments for various populations regardless of social class, race, or ethnicity.

What sets us apart from other clinical research companies is that my business partner and I treat every patient as if they are our family members. We have baked these morals into our company and within our employees — that is what I am most proud of, to be able to run a company that upholds their morals and ethics when it comes to patient care.

For example, when the COVID-19 pandemic started in March, our research offices quickly shifted focus to collaborate with pharmaceutical companies to conduct crucial COVID-19 studies, including plasma donations. Additionally, we launched a mask donation campaign called “Operation, Mask Donation,” the goal being to provide individuals in need with face masks. We contacted local tailors to submit orders for high-quality reusable face masks with PM2.5 filters, to date we have sent out hundreds of masks to people all across the United States.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans for the future are to grow our company to other states and cities so we may serve various populations with advanced treatment options for chronic illnesses.
