Meet Lindsey Grohoski of Daydreamer Social in Arizona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Grohoski.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved writing and being creative. I used to keep so many journals and at a young age my mom taught me how to scrapbook. Being creative has always been a part of my life.

When I was in college, I had the opportunity to intern for a local public relations firm. During my time there, I wrote my first press release and it was an amazing feeling to have wrote something that would make its way to the media. After that internship, I worked for a wedding marketing specialist named Blake Patricia, and this is where my love for social media and content creation came from. I was new to the industry but was really excited to learn all about blogging, social media posts and even planning events. After my time with her, I interned at a local agency and was their social media intern during my last year of college. This gave me a lot of insight into how agencies operate and being able to work with many different clients. The internships that I have had and the people that I have worked under are the reason for where I am today.

After my internship with Blake, I knew I wanted to eventually have my own business. I wanted to have agency experience as well as in-house experience and I am fortunate to say I have had both. While they are similar, there are also quite a few differences. Currently, I run social media for a local hospitality group as their social media manager and have built my business on the side. My focus is brands that are in the lifestyle, fashion and beauty world. I am still in the beginning stages but so excited for what the future holds for Daydreamer Social.

Has it been a smooth road?
I would say it has been a smooth road so far. I am still in the beginning stages of running my own business so I am learning each day. I’ve been reading a lot and listening to podcasts to help grow my knowledge for becoming an entrepreneur. I think the struggle so far as been figuring out how to start and where to go next. I am fortunate to know some amazing women entrepreneurs that I have been able to reach out to for advice.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is called Daydreamer Social. I specialize in social media management, paid social media advertisement, content creation and influencer marketing for lifestyle, fashion and beauty brands. I am proud of this company because it is a big step for me since graduating college and moving in a direction towards my dream. I also love getting to have a creative outlet since I have a blog on my website as well.

Something that sets me apart from others is that I have been in a variety of different positions that have given me a lot of insight into social media and marketing. I have been mentored and influenced by many women that have helped me get to where I am today. I am on the cusp of being a millennial and generation z so I can offer a lot of companies insight into what both generations are interested in and respond to.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Scottsdale is a great place for marketing and social media. With this area being a rather large tourist destination, social media and influencer marketing really help drive business. I think it is a great place to start out but I also believe that social media can be done from anywhere.
