Meet Joseph Dodds of Dodds Family Real Estate in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Dodds.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Joseph. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Joseph Dodds and I have been an Arizona desert dweller for the past twenty seven years. As I have gotten to know Arizona as my home, I can’t imagine finding anywhere else to be quite like it. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Brittany, for six years and have two beautiful boys (ages two and four). Several years ago my family embarked on the journey of purchasing our first home, and along the way, I developed a thirst to learn more about the process of home buying.

A few years later I found myself at a crossroads of sorts with my career. I wanted to pursue not just a profession, but something I was passionate about. I realized that real estate was just that for me. I worked hard to get where I am and joined the United Brokers Group team to give myself the backing of more than thirty years of experience. This combination has helped me hit the ground running.

What I enjoy most about real estate is having the opportunity to work on behalf of those who have trusted me to navigate the ups and downs of buying and selling a home, and helping people see the possibilities of a house and help them make it their own home. I have a unique eye and vision for what could be for so many homes and a desire to share this with others. I am hands-on as an agent and keep my clients well informed on what is happening. I walk the walk and fight to get the best for the people who work with me.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think it is crazy that people think starting a business would be easy. When I jumped into the real estate world, I had a bunch of people tell me I was crazy. I was transitioning from a job that I had been at for almost 10 years, and I was leaving with no certainty of success or even promise of an income at all. My wife was finishing graduate school, and I was the primary breadwinner of the family. Looking at all of the odds stacked against me, some people thought I would struggle to stand out in a crowded field, or not have what it takes to be successful. But I also had some great people, like my wife, that believed in my character, not just in my abilities, that supported me in many different ways. The difference between these two groups of people? The latter didn’t support me because of what I could do, but because of who I am and who I’ve proven myself to be. With their support, my family hasn’t suffered, but they have flourished. While we don’t have the guarantee of how things will come together or happen, we know we’re surrounded by people who support us and want to help us make a difference in the world.

Please tell us about your business.
I am a Real Estate agent that truly cares for my clients. I work to help people buy or sell their home. I am here to help people see what could be in their homes. I have a unique eye for detail and vision that helps me see the potential. This goes to see what your house can be sold for or helping people see what could be in an amazing home that needs some updating. Arizona is full of real estate agents that want people to buy brand new homes or homes out of people’s budgets. I think far more often people are walking into the largest purchase of their lives and need someone to walk alongside them, not someone who is out for a paycheck or someone willing to cut corners. I have teamed up with United Brokers group to give myself the backing of over 30 years of experience in the Real Estate field. When you have me as an agent, you get the whole team behind you. All in all, I am trustworthy and good at what I do.

If you had to start over, what would you have done differently?
I can honestly say, I wouldn’t do a thing over. I am who I am because of the choices I have made. Running my business is no different. Sure there are small adjustments I would make for my marketing, but that’s about it. I am out there trying to do things the right way with integrity and honesty. While also doing them to the very best of my ability. I have learned that who I am is enough and I don’t need to try and be someone else. I don’t have a gimmick, and I don’t have a fancy car to impress people. I am me and that is enough because I am good at Real Estate and I am glad I am here to stay.
