Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey Lucidi.
Joey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in the restaurant business with my family owning restaurants. After 15 years of working for others, I finally opened my fist concept in 2013. Since then we have grown in locations. We currently employ over 150 employees, and this is my biggest accomplishment. Creating jobs is very important to me. It helps us grow, but more importantly, we knew we are helping that many families better support themselves.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. Put simply I lost almost everything with our last business (non restaurant), and then put every last dime into my first restaurant. Scary times those were, but through hard work, and an amazing team, we were able to get through it and prosper.

Our Restaurant, HAYMAKER, specializes in Breakfast, Burgers, Beer and Bourbon. We have won many awards for our food, including best breakfast in the west valley. Our house made comfort food reminds guests of their childhoods and family recipes keep us grounded. I am very proud of our community involvement with kids, churches and military. These are the staples of our surroundings and we feel blessed to be able to contribute to them.
What sets us apart is our mom and pop feel even with our growing sales and adding of locations. We still have that family atmosphere no matter how big we grow.
What were you like growing up?
I was way too talkative! I actually got kicked out of my third grade class for talking too much. But over the years, I learned to use my talkative nature to my advantage. The world is built around sales and being a conversationalist has helped me create many amazing relationships.
Growing up I loved the game of golf, and I played through college and professionally. But a car accident changed my path. That being said, I still love the game.
