Today we’d like to introduce you to Javier Berrios.
Javier was born in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of four his parents and siblings moved to Ponce, Puerto Rico. In 1987 Javier earned his Bachelor degree in Education from the University of Puerto Rico. This skill, and his outgoing personality, are the key foundation to his success in management and interpersonal relationship with his customers and employees.
In August 2000, Javier decided to pursue greater opportunities in the United States and moved to Mesa, Arizona with his wife Clarissa and three children. For nearly 16 years Javier began working in the janitorial services field. Javier has worked with both national and local companies such as ISS, GCA, Service Solution, and several other companies in Arizona and California, acquiring experience from both ends of the spectrum, and in all areas of the industry (commercial, K-12, Airport, malls, Clean rooms, government, etc.). Accounts such as APS, City of Mesa, Freescale, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Go Daddy and 3M are among some of the accounts he has managed during this period.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Thank God it been a pretty smooth road, However, my greatest struggles was during the beginning stages of acquiring all the knowledge of owning a business in Arizona and all the state requirements such as obtaining all the documentations, licenses, insurance, bond, etc. But again, I had help from good friends who also started their own businesses and provided me the guidance. One of the challenges that I also found is about money. Banks are reluctant to lend you money for start-ups and it’s not easy get a loan from the bank, and other loan companies will bump up their interest rates for these types of loans. I think it would be nice if they help all start up.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the JB Superior Maintenance Services story. Tell us more about the business.
In 2015 Javier, confident he had gained sufficient and successful experience in the industry, decided to establish his own company, JB Superior Maintenance Services, LLC. His mission with the company, JB Superior Maintenance Services, LLC, is to provide customers with exceptional customer service and outstanding quality through inspection and continuous communication with customers and his employees. He is wholeheartedly committed to getting to what matters most to the client and helping them achieve their outcome at the right price.
His Education background enables him to train and encourage his employees providing a safe environment with a commitment to quality janitorial services. Javier is also dedicated to caring for his employees by rewarding them through various means of recognition such as gift cards, employee recognition certifications, promotions, bonuses etc. His philosophy is that happy and well trained employees are the backbone of JB Superior Maintenance Services to provide excellent services.

None, all is product of hard work through planning, coordinating and taking care of others (client, employees, family and friend), and very importantly God blessings.
My wife and I moved here with just $2,000 that our father in law gave us. We came with the attitude to work hard no matter what it would take (2 jobs for me at the beginning).
