Life & Work with David And Amber Hough of Goodyear

Today we’d like to introduce you to David And Amber Hough.

David and Amber, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our founder is a board-certified nurse practitioner whose journey into wellness medicine is deeply personal. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune condition—shortly after becoming certified as an aesthetic nurse injector. That experience profoundly changed how she viewed healthcare and wellness.

Facing her own medical challenges revealed how often traditional medicine falls short and how easily wellness is overlooked until health is compromised. It also sparked a passion for helping others take a proactive, informed approach to their well-being—guided by a provider who listens, educates, and stays current with the latest evidence-based treatments.

With a desire to create a space rooted in trust, education, and whole-person care, she envisioned a practice that bridges medical expertise with integrative wellness. That vision became reality with the support of her husband, retired Phoenix Police Sergeant David Hough, whose entrepreneurial mindset helped bring the practice to life.

Together, they built a space where patients feel supported, empowered, and confident in their wellness journey—today and for the long term.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have struggled with finding qualified and hard working staff. We struggled with reps over promising and under delivering; as well as lying to us. We have struggled to learn how to navigate the medical spa industry – a combo of beauty and medicine.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a board-certified nurse practitioner and medical director, my work focuses on integrative wellness and aesthetic medicine, with a strong emphasis on hormonal health and optimization for both women and men. As a woman in medicine, I bring a deep understanding of how hormonal changes impact every stage of life—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and how often these changes are misunderstood, minimized, or overlooked.

I specialize in hormone optimization, weight management, regenerative and aesthetic treatments, and personalized wellness care designed to support the whole person. I am known for taking the time to listen, educate, and create individualized plans that reflect each patient’s unique physiology, lifestyle, and goals. Hormonal balance is never “one-size-fits-all,” and I believe thoughtful, data-driven care is essential for meaningful, long-term results.

What I am most proud of is building a practice where both women and men feel heard, validated, and empowered when it comes to their health. Many patients come to me after struggling for years with fatigue, weight changes, mood shifts, libido concerns, or feeling “not like themselves,” often being told their symptoms are normal or simply part of aging. Helping them reconnect with their vitality and confidence is the most rewarding part of my work.

What sets me apart is the combination of lived experience, advanced medical training, and a female-led perspective on hormonal health. I understand firsthand the complexities of hormonal transitions and apply that insight to optimize care for both women and men. My approach goes beyond symptom management—I focus on restoring balance, improving quality of life, and partnering with patients through every phase of their wellness journey.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
No business is built alone, and I have been incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by mentors, teammates, clients, and advocates who have played a meaningful role in both my personal growth and the success of this business.

First and foremost, my husband, retired Phoenix Police Sergeant David Hough, deserves immense credit. His unwavering support, entrepreneurial mindset, and belief in my vision gave me the confidence to take the leap into business ownership. He has been a constant sounding board, offering guidance, encouragement, and perspective throughout every stage of building the practice.

I would also like to recognize Brandie and Al Heredia of Unmarked Beauty & Wellness for their mentorship and guidance. Their willingness to share their knowledge, insight, and experience has been invaluable, helping me navigate both the clinical and business sides of the industry with greater confidence and clarity.

I am deeply grateful for my friends and family, who have supported this business in countless ways—from referring patients and using our services to offering encouragement and advocacy behind the scenes. Their belief in what we are building has meant more than they may realize.

I would also like to acknowledge Kelly, my Alastin representative, for her exceptional care and dedication to my account. Her ongoing support, education, and strategic guidance have played an important role in the growth of our skincare offerings and in elevating the standard of care we provide to our patients.

Finally, I am incredibly thankful for our team and our patients. Our team’s commitment to excellence and our patients’ trust and loyalty are the foundation of everything we do. This practice is truly the result of collaboration, mentorship, and community support, and I am honored to grow it alongside such an incredible network of people.
