Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudia De Leon.
Claudia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my blog to create a safe space for single mothers to share their stories. Whether it be about dating, parenting advice or life lessons we encounter, I wanted single mothers to feel empowered on sharing their journeys. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re going through this alone when really we’re not. We are all going through this together and are connected through our stories.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest struggle I have encountered since starting my blog is being vulnerable. My blog posts can get very personal, putting my life out there in the open not knowing how it will be perceived is nerve wrecking. I always have to remind myself that this is what I signed up for, being “real” is what my blog is about. What keeps me blogging is the feedback I receive from other moms going through the same experience as I am. My advice for any woman that wants to start a blog is to be yourself, being vulnerable isn’t a weakness it’s what allows us to empower ourselves and others.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Caya_Te & Live – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My blog helps single mothers live their lives to the fullest. I take real life situations that happen to me and add a comedic twist to it. I’m best known for going through some of the craziest situations and laughing about it because life is too beautiful to dwell on tiny moments. What sets my blog apart from others is how brutally honest I am about being a single mother. I do not sugar coat my life and I don’t pretend to be the perfect mom. I am most proud of how far I have come as a single mother.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Growing up, I had the most loving and supportive parents. They have definitely set the bar high on parenting. I am thankful that I have parents to look up to, I am the mother I am today because of the parents I have.
