Inspiring Conversations with Tasha Roberts of ASAP Commercial Doors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Roberts.

Tasha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. I graduated from Sandra Day O’Connor High and then went on to graduate from ASU with a business communication degree and from The American University of Rome with an international business certificate. After college, I started my career in finance, working at Charles Schwab in the trading and transfer dept.

In April 2016, my family’s world was turned upside down when my parents were in a terrible motorcycle accident.

They were in a coma and hospitalized for months. My parents owned and operated a local door company since 1999 in the valley. I immediately made the decision to step away from my career and into the business so I could make sure it did not fail during this time my parents were incapacitated.

Fast forward years later.. my mother is able to work part-time but my father remains paralyzed, unable to work. They both, unfortunately, suffer daily from traumatic brain injuries.

I officially became the owner of the business in 2021. Since then, we have re-branded, tripled the business, and just opened a second location in North Carolina. Today, I am busy working on this business in NC, while remotely running the Phoenix location.

I also have a husband who works in the NC division with me and two beautiful children! 2 and 5 years old.

Over the last few years, I have also started and sold a commercial cleaning company, and meal prep company and hold an active real estate license in Arizona.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No! Every day is a new challenge.

What I struggled with the most was stepping into the construction/service industry that I knew nothing about. I had to gain the respect of men that were twice my age. I had to learn how to confidently lead a team and build a strong culture.

We’ve been impressed with ASAP Commercial Doors, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ASAP Commercial Doors is a service/new construction company, specializing in all commercial doors and glass. We perform service and installation for clients all over Arizona, since 1999. Our client list includes Uhaul, Harkins Theaters, Luke Air Force Base, facilities managers, property managers, building owners, and general contractors.

Clients love that we are reliable and have a team with an amazing attitude. We always get the job done right and our goal is to ensure the client is happy and they have an excellent product! We also pride ourselves on our communication. We have state-of-the-art technology, where the client can track the technician en route and see the photo of who is arriving at their facility.

Our office manager always follows up after every call to make sure the client is happy. Additionally, send random gifts to our clients each month! We love to surprise and delight. You will not find another door company out there that CARES more than we do.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Persistence and grit. I am able to get knocked down and get back up again, over and over.
