Hidden Gems: Meet Vanessa Kavulish of Benefit Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Kavulish

Vanessa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Benefit Bar in 2023 following nearly 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. I wanted to pair that with my experience as a business coach and create something unique that aligned with my own values, made a positive impact on the world, and also delivers top tier guest experiences. We focus on reducing waste through using compostable and biodegradable materials, sourcing local and organic ingredients, and we also donate to and support local non profits.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Things have been fairly smooth as I’ve focused on purposeful and sustainable growth. I think the biggest obstacle is reminding myself not to emotionally invest in recipes or packages I create as growth brings change. I make every step about our clients, and make always make an effort to listen to (and deliver on) what they are asking for so that we can blow them away.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’ve shared a decent amount of this already, but to add to what I’ve shared, I’ve worked for all types of hospitality establishments from small local restaurants to high end 5 start/4diamond resorts.
I genuinely don’t see many in the market paying attention to the environmental impact, or budgeting to support non profits in the area, so I believe that’s what sets us apart. We also go above and beyond to create a simplistic yet seamless service for our clients so they don’t lift a finger when it comes to mocktail and cocktail service as they host. Everyone on our team are certified mixologists and have a genuine passion for service and creative mixing.
Since I also have a background in Coaching and have worked for leaders in the business and mindset space, I also mix that into a little of everything we do. I also consult for people who are new to business ownership in the hospitality space to launch their first mobile business in a sustainable and way.
