Hidden Gems: Meet Logan of Wiseman and Gale Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan.

Hi Logan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

Where do I begin! I guess the pivotal moment for me was moving out to Arizona from Connecticut. I had dabbled in design in a retail capacity as I loved product knowledge. Bringing a whole room together with a stranger was a great way for me to gain the confidence I needed to bring me into the field of interior design. Flash forward to the pandemic… I moved out to AZ to assist a friend’s mom with her new home in North Scottsdale. She taught me how to interact with the design centers and let me use her house as a creative outlet. This in turn gave me the portfolio I needed to land a design assistant job at Wiseman and Gale Interiors. Now that’s where I feel I found my true calling. Assisting two designers and our managing partner has given me a wealth of knowledge. Over the past four years I have cultivated my design aesthetic and taken on projects of my own. Wiseman and Gale has strong roots and while we prune over the years I have grown with the business. I’m excited to share with the community what we have in store soon!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

There were so many struggles! When I say I moved out here I mean I filled my trunk with two duffels of clothes and handed my car over to an auto transporter. Once I landed in AZ, I immediately asked myself why I took this huge life change. I think I would tell myself oh it’s only a summer (I know crazy to move to AZ in the summer) I would soon learn I was home… it’s hard to say I struggled because I had so many mentors along the way that supported me. In general, though narrowing down your exact career is daunting you must work so incredibly hard all the time.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Wiseman and Gale have become a family to me. We are a firm with a small group of designers and assistants. Collaborating and scheming the most incredible properties and estates with our beloved clients. We have a long history in Scottsdale dating back to 1965. As a small business, we are a small but mighty group that has been at the top of their game since the beginning. This has allowed the business to scale in creative ways. As one of the most trusted antiques shops in the valley, we also cater to my retail side where I have been able to thrive and connect with some incredible industry leaders.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?

I was always that artsy kid. My mom would find art camps and embrace my creativity by framing early works of mine. Both my parents would love when I would come running into the room showing them a well-thought-out imaginary plan of a room that only exists in my mind. Being an adopted kid alongside my sister who’s a year younger was a unique part of my upbringing. We lived in Bermuda after being adopted from Russia. I know it’s crazy…
Looking back at how far I have come and all the learning challenges I had growing up, I’m amazed at where I’m at today. Growing up on the East Coast was interesting. I never felt like I had true friends until I got to high school. Where I joined the sailing team and learned a lot about how others rely on you and your part in the “game”. I also met the most amazing group of friends who formed in a civics class and will be friends with that group forever.
