Hidden Gems: Meet Francine Vasquez of LxF Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francine Vasquez

Hi Francine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I took a $500 lash course and spent the last of my money on the whim in college during Covid because I was broke working as a dental assistant & my work hours were cut from 60-80 hours to 5-10 hours. I was putting myself through college where I was studying Pre-Dental and doing my best to contribute to my family as many Asian-Americans strive to do also. I originally wanted to be in a field where I would be able to help others as this was my biggest form of fulfillment, but I soon learned quickly that I was helping my lash clients mire deeply than I could ever help my dental patients. I had helped my first few clients with divorce, family trauma, overcoming drug addiction, and those suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts. After building such genuine relationships, I knew this was the career change I wanted to accomplish! I decided to take a risk and open a beauty studio where I would teach & mentor students from my courses and provide a place for them to create a name for themselves in the industry. I also wanted to pay forward the blessings this industry has given me to others!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting was not an easy journey by any means. I left my first lash course not being able to put one lash extensions on my model. I worked 3 jobs until this became my full time job while in school. Opening the studio, I faced several obstacles during negotiations for the lease of my retail space, mainly due to my young age of 21 I am sure. Even though I was approved, they are rightfully questioning me because I am a young adult committing to a 5 year lease.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
LxF Studios was founded in 2022 by master artist and educator, Francine (@lashedxfrancine). It is a one stop shop & AZ state board registered lash academy. LashedxFrancine specializes in lash retention, health, lash courses & mental health advocacy. I believe I have given every student and client my all and I mean it when I say that I want to see everyone win! I believe a major factor that sets me apart is that I also have struggled and been in the same shoes as my students who are embarking in their journey in the beauty industry; like my clients, I seem to attract those that have experienced similar life events that we can relate to each other coincide with our healing and growth, overall, I have attracted a plethora of humble, hardworking, successful women. I may not have grown as quickly as other artists, however, I am proud of the genuine connections I have made that have deeply shaped myself & my community alike, and that the loyalty they have to LxF Studios is unwavering and unmatched!
I want my readers to know that LxF is more than just a one-stop shop servicing lashes, laser hair removal, permanent makeup, and courses, it is a place of integrity & community and our goal is to leave everyone feeling fulfilled beyond the scope of beauty!
