Hidden Gems: Meet Diane Palacios of Palacios Crew Counseling LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Palacios.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Palacios Crew Counseling LLC started as a perinatal mental health and EMDR solo practice. Over the past four years, Palacios Crew Counseling has grown to add three part time clinicians who are all trained and some certified in perinatal mental health. We love supporting our clients and families through their perinatal journey, whether it be fertility journeys, infant grief and loss, pregnancy, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders post partum, birth trauma or any other struggle that a family is facing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Palacios Crew Counseling LLC started as a private pay practice and due to access to care and the change in the economy, we decided to provide more access to perinatal care and have counseling be more affordable and for people to be able to utilize their insurance. We hired a billing department to support Palacios Crew Counseling and will be onboarding an administrative assistant to support our practice in the next week. When we face challenges, we look at what the need is and how it can be met and adjust.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Palacios Crew Counseling LLC is located in the heart of Phoenix, but is able to provide counseling to all of AZ via telehealth. We specialize and have advanced training/certification in Perinatal Mental Health. Morgan Neary, LCSW PMH-C specializes in infertility and third -party reproductive journeys. Morgan also provides couples therapy and LGBTQ population. Lyndsay Morgan LMSW, PMH-C specializes in substance use, women’s health and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Tabitha Martin, LAC specializes serving the neurodiverse community as well as perinatal mood and anxiety disorders as well as the LGBTQ community. Diane Palacios LPC LIAC PMH-C is the owner and founder of Palacios Crew Counseling LLC and is certified in Perinatal Mental Health and EMDR as well as is an EMDR Consultant. Diane treats clients experiencing infertility, grief, loss, birth trauma, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and provides supervision to her associate clinicians within the practice.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I network a lot within the birthing community and build relationships within the community. Also, I work with a business coach who is able to challenge me to grow out of my comfort zone. One of the parts of coaching that I enjoy is helping me to find balance while owning a practice, providing direct therapy, supervision, as well as balancing personal life. Growth and being challenged is an important part of life and as we are encouraging growth for our clients- I strongly believe that I need to do my own work in growing as well.
