Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrina and Deana Bledsoe.
Darrina and Deana are locals of Arizona and have family roots in Spain. They both played basketball in college, where they competed at high levels, including the NCAA. The sisters continued their academic careers in graduate school, where they earned Master’s degrees related to psychology and counseling. Since graduating, the sisters practiced counseling for clients suffering from various psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and psychosis. Their background and clinical training motivated the sisters to create an empowerment program for leaders, athletes, and anyone wanting improve their life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is a tough road. Our mindset grew from worker bees to businesswomen. The mental shift and barriers in creating a business was challenging when getting started. It has been five years since opening and we continue to learn more about ourselves in the business world.
We’ve been impressed with Bledsoe Empower, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our goal is to help the El Mundo (the world) through education and mindset coaching. Our clients learn resiliency skills to be emotionally and mentally prepared to thrive in life. The reality is, some days feel like a whirlwind, other days are stale and stagnant, and others are filled with leveling up in life. The goal is to not just weather each storm but fully LIVE through the Empowerment program we’ve created. We offer online programs, one-on-one coaching and created a women’s guided journal called “Empowered As F*ck!” We dive into five areas of life that influence how empowered we feel daily: Mind + Body Connection. Career Goals, Support Systems, Romantic Relationships, Self-Care Relationship. Our social media also offers free mental health tips @EmpowerElMundo.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The impacts of the pandemic and COVID-19 crisis showed how difficult it can be to stay resilient. Most of us have experienced some form of loss, whether it be family, friends, occupation, finances, housing, and adequate healthcare. Unfortunately, this has resulted in an increase in mental health issues, addictions, and even suicide. It is important to get professional help, so you don’t feel alone in this chaos. The pandemic has forced everyone to change, that doesn’t mean you have to be alone throughout your journey of changes.
