Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristyn Carmichael.

Hi Kristyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. 
Divorce was very prevalent in my family, leading me to sway away from family law while attending law school. My focus was mediation, a collaborative process in which a third party neutral assists conflicted parties in finding a resolution outside of court. I primarily mediated civil and agricultural cases until my mentor encouraged me to take my first family case. And I have never looked back – dedicating my career to family law. Many of my clients are going through the most difficult time in their lives, left confused by the legal system, the emotional impact of ending a relationship, and the financial implications that go along with it. I truly believe that over 95% of conflict between couples can be resolved in mediation and outside of court. It allows for family-centered agreements, lower costs, and less conflict for all those involved. After many years working for a family mediation firm, I went out on my own in 2022, opening Couples Solutions Center. Couples Solutions Center seeks to provide a compassionate and thoughtful approach focused on family-centered agreements. We believe in providing transparent fees to keep costs low and expertise to help you create advantageous agreements. Our concierge services connect you with exceptional professionals to help you not only through your process itself but also to better understand the implications surrounding your legal agreements and your future. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think starting a business or finding your passion is ever a smooth road. My true passion is helping couples and families through conflict, but running a firm also involves marketing, staff management, accounting, and more. I think that many entrepreneurs struggle to find this balance – their passion for their work and the other obligations of a business. That being said, I’m so proud of how the firm has grown and the clients we have positively impacted. Change and challenges will always come and go, but it’s the clients that will always make our work worthwhile. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Couples Solutions Center. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Couples Solutions Center, we offer mediation services for couples going through transitions in their relationship, including divorce or break-ups, premarital, cohabitation (moving in together), and parenting (parents separating and needing a parenting plan). Our mediator is a licensed Arizona attorney and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst with almost 10 years of experience. In mediation, we assist couples in finding resolutions to their disputes while lowering conflict. We also assist in the drafting and filing of any necessary legal documents in their case. While we assist couples on all related agreements, including parenting and support, our area of specialty is finances. Our clients come to us to better understand the impact of their transition on their finances and the creative solutions for financially beneficial agreements. 

We are different from every other firm in that we offer a divorce concierge service. We assist couples in understanding not only the core implications of their transition but also guide them, with the help of leading experts, on the ancillary effects or impacts of their transition. As an example, while most family law professionals will cover the divorce itself, with the help of our expert advisors, we are helping our couples understand the impact of their divorce on their mortgage and title, estate planning and beneficiaries, taxes, etc. We truly cover their entire process from beginning to end. 

We also offer all-inclusive flat fees, making the expenses predictable and manageable for our couples. We believe in open communication with our clients, not charging for each communication as other family law professionals do. We are here as a support for our clients every step of the way. We are proud to offer a service that truly puts the clients and their families first.
