Exploring Life & Business with Aunzané Hayes of Eternal Dance Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aunzané Hayes.

Hi Aunzané, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always felt that my purpose in this world is to teach dance and spread love. My journey has been intertwined with dance and the arts from the very beginning. I’ve progressed from assisting at dance conventions and competitions to becoming a dance company director at just 19. After pursuing a degree in dance and business, I opened my own studio at 23. Throughout my life, I have expressed myself through an artistic lens. With the support of those who believed in me, I successfully launched Eternal Dance Company (EDC) in 2023, and we are now entering our third season with incredibly talented and dedicated dancers. Creating a studio that is competitive yet filled with love was very important to me, and I’m proud to say that this is exactly what EDC represents.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This year, I’ve had to remind myself that all businesses, whether new or established, face challenges. The first two years were incredible and successful, though they came with obstacles that I was able to address and overcome. As we enter our third season, I’ve encountered many changes that I’ve had to navigate personally. I’m truly grateful for how smoothly those initial years went, as they’ve equipped me to handle the current challenges I’m facing. I remind myself daily that everything that comes into our lives is meant to be there. The things we care about deserve our love and attention, and that’s precisely what I intend to do with my business for many years to come.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Eternal Dance Company?
Eternal Dance Company (EDC) is a competitive dance program for dancers ages 6-18 yrs old. We also offer combo classes for ages 4-5, drop-in classes, and weekly classes for dancers ages 6-18. EDC is unique in the fact that, we want all dancers to become apart of our competitive program. For this reason instead of spending class time on learning new dances for one end of the year dance recital class time is used for dancers to gain better dance technique and achieve their goals.

At Eternal we train in all styles of dance. This includes Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tumbling, Ballroom, HipHop, and more. Dancers being exposed and versatile is very important to us.

We are also family friendly keeping in mind kids need time off and time with family. Our class schedule runs from Monday-Thursday giving the families weekends together. If dancers want extra studio time rentals and private lessons are always encouraged. We are also a smaller studio giving each dancer individualized corrections and each family has a special connection with the owner and teachers

Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people have shaped me into the person I am today and without them I would not have what I do now. My family, fiancé, friends, and past/present dance families deserve all the credit but EDC would not be open without the help of my investors and I am just so grateful for everyone that has come into my life.
