Exploring Life & Business with Alexi & Gregory Turk of Mountain Medical & Healthcare Consultants (MMHC)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexi & Gregory Turk.

Hi Alexi & Gregory, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At MMHC, our mission is deeply rooted in our unwavering commitment to transforming the healthcare landscape for the better. Founded by individuals who have experienced firsthand the challenges and complexities within the industry, we are driven by a shared vision to empower healthcare providers and patients to thrive in an environment that often seems stacked against them.

For Alexi, our founding member, her journey in healthcare began as a nurse, where she witnessed the disparities and obstacles that patients and providers faced daily. With a fervent belief in the importance of personalized care and fair treatment, Alexi’s passion for advocacy became the cornerstone of her journey to become a nurse practitioner and to create MMHC. Her dedication to ensuring that every individual receives the quality healthcare they deserve fuels our team’s relentless pursuit of excellence.

Greg, our seasoned healthcare leader, brings a unique blend of operational expertise and strategic acumen to the table. His diverse background in business development and operational excellence has equipped him with a deep understanding of the challenges facing physicians and independent physician groups. Greg’s commitment to fostering collaboration and empowering physicians to regain control of their practices resonates at the core of MMHC’s mission.

Together, Alexi and Greg share a common “why” – a deep-seated desire to challenge the status quo and champion the interests of those who provide care to our communities and improve the patient experience. We believe in the power of partnership and collaboration, working hand-in-hand with healthcare providers and patients to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and create meaningful change from within.

Our passion for supporting healthcare providers and patients is not just a business venture – it’s a calling rooted in our shared experiences and values. We are driven by the belief that every healthcare provider and patient deserves the opportunity to succeed on their own terms, and we are committed to being their trusted partner on this journey.

At MMHC, our “why” is simple yet profound – we exist to empower healthcare providers, businesses, and patients to thrive, because when they succeed, our communities thrive.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey hasn’t been perfectly smooth—and that’s okay. We are still very much at the beginning of this path. Building something new in healthcare comes with its own set of challenges, from navigating complexity and uncertainty to balancing vision with the practical realities of getting started.

Rather than rushing the process, we’ve been intentional about laying a strong foundation. The beginning of this year is a period of focus and refinement for us—clarifying our direction, strengthening our partnerships, and building the infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth.

We see this phase not as a struggle, but as an investment. Every step, lesson, and adjustment is shaping MMHC into the organization we know it can become. We’re committed to doing this thoughtfully, with purpose, and with the long-term impact in mind.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At MMHC, we partner with healthcare providers and organizations to simplify complexity, strengthen operations, and protect clinical autonomy—while keeping the patient-provider experience at the center of everything we do. We specialize in bridging the gap between clinical care and business operations, offering practical, tailored solutions rather than one-size-fits-all approaches.

What we’re most proud of is building trusted partnerships that empower clinicians to regain control of their practices and build sustainable organizations.

What sets MMHC apart is our from-the-inside-out perspective. We partner, advocate, and build alongside those delivering care, so providers and patients can succeed on their own terms.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
The best advice we’ve received is to find someone you genuinely trust—someone who understands your world and isn’t afraid to tell you the hard truths. A good mentor should challenge you, not just cheer you on.

What’s worked well for us is focusing less on “networking” and more on building real relationships. Be curious, show up consistently, and don’t be afraid to ask thoughtful questions. When you lead with authenticity instead of an agenda, those connections tend to grow naturally into mentorship over time.
