Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Hahn
Hi Liz, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my first business in the entertainment industry in the 90s, so I have over three decades of experience now. I always loved to party with my friends and organize parties with local bands, lots of drinks, and beautiful atmosphere models, and I really wanted to keep sharing the spirit of fun with others. That’s why I grew multiple bachelor party planning agencies, such as Phoenix Bachelor Party and Bad Girl Productions, into successful businesses that can deliver the Ultimate Bach Party experience.
My first business was part of the EDM DJ Scene in San Diego, California, where I used to provide Go-Go Dancers and Promotions Girls, but we soon expanded to other popular party destinations, such as Phoenix and Scottsdale, focusing on bachelor party groups looking for the best night of their lives. The winning combination back then was beer, great music, and beautiful women. Lots of guys still love to party like this in the present, but we had to level up the fun to accommodate the market demand. Nowadays, Bach groups want a fun-filled weekend getaway with more complex party packages that include luxury party buses and yacht charters, eye candy bartenders and pool party entertainment, fun poker nights at the rental, private chef experiences, and so on. So yeah, a night in the club doesn’t cut it anymore, and I’m here to tailor the party experience to our client’s needs. I’m so happy to take part in organizing such milestone events.
My business journey was not always smooth. In fact, I started only with a list of phone numbers, the concept, and a pager. Things were tougher when you did not have the Internet to spread the word about your business. But I hustled and built everything step by step, learning from mistakes and adapting to the fast-changing industry, and here I am today. Maybe I’ll get into more details later on.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, I had lots of ups and downs and had to learn how to manage my business along the way. There are many things I learned by making mistakes, and I hope other fresh entrepreneurs see this and use whatever information they find helpful.
First of all, I struggled in the beginning due to my mistake of not signing contracts. Lesson learned! Now, I always sign a contract, no matter how small the job is and how well I trust the other party. My legal team has my back and drafts agreements for me to avoid misunderstandings and protect all parties involved. Clear boundaries help maintain healthy partnerships and work relationships and recognize and address what does not serve your business.
Another big struggle we’ve had was, of course, the pandemic. The lockdown led to lots of party plan cancellations, and we had to adapt and move to virtual bachelor parties. This initiative earned us recognition from Business Insider and Fast Company, which was great, but we still had to limit the bachelor party groups to less than five people. It really impacted the way we could deliver epic and customizable packages.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Phoenix Bachelor Party is all about fun and epic bachelor parties, stag parties, and all-guys weekend getaways in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona. We are known for our party packages with eye candy entertainers who keep the energy high and charm the guys with their lovely and friendly personalities.
For example, bachelor party groups traveling to Phoenix for a fun day on the golf course can book our Golf Caddy Girls package. They can select the golf entertainers from our portfolio and have these party pros accompany the group, pour drinks, drive the golf cart, help them choose the iron, and keep everyone entertained.
Another party service we offer, and I’m really proud of it, is the Pool Party Girls package. Bashes by the pool are really popular in Phoenix, so we love to level up the fun with pool party entertainers who hang out with the bachelor groups, engage in fun party games, such as beer pong, and are amazing eye candy for the groom.
We want to offer our clients the best party experience, so we are open to partnerships with other local businesses relevant to the Bach party industry. We recently partnered with a Hibachi Chef business that offers their services at the vacation rental or private home, and we’re super happy with how this collaboration works. I believe that businesses can’t thrive solely alone and that not everyone on the market is your competitor. So, I can’t wait to collaborate with other entrepreneurs and businesses in Phoenix that love to offer the best party services!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
The way I see success goes beyond business growth and financial abundance; it’s more about finding a balance between your passion or personal fulfillment, the value your business creates for your clients, and the positive impact you have on the people around you. I love to create opportunities for my friends (many work with me as DJs, bouncers, managers, etc.) and for other women trying to grow, pay for their education, and invest in themselves, as is the case with many of the eye candy talent Phoenix Bachelor Party and Bad Girl Productions employs.
And, of course, it’s very satisfying to have clients come back to you because they loved the party you planned for them a year ago or have them message you right after the bachelor party, thanking you for how lit your services were.
