Today, we’d like to introduce you to Diana Ochoa.
Hi Diana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hi, my name is Diana, and I am an Arizona native, born and raised in Tucson, AZ. Moved to the valley 13 years ago. I am married and a boy mom of a 2- and 4-year-old. I started my Instagram page almost a year ago. When I became a first-time mom, I loved following pages like Kidizona and Gilbert Guide on Instagram to find places to take my son and find coffee shops around my area.
During that time, I was going through postpartum depression, so I was really wanting to try to get out and meet other moms. I ended up meeting Lindsay (Kidizona) after sending her content for a new park in our neighborhood and other places I had found in some of my adventures with my son, and soon after, I became a contributor. I ended up meeting a mom at the park, and in conversation, she told me that was her first time visiting because she saw it on Kidizona.
Not only have I met amazing mothers, but I have also had the pleasure of meeting so many local business owners who have become friends. The fact that I can help in a small way just by sharing our experience at these places or reminding people of cool events coming up, deals, or freebies is such a good feeling.
Local coffee shops, books, family-friendly events, and restaurants are all things I love and frequent.
Being able to share our experiences while helping these businesses get more well-deserved exposure is a win-win.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the struggles come from this being a fun hobby. I am juggling a full-time job – and although it is remote, which is a blessing and something I don’t take for granted, both my boys are home.
So, juggling work, the kids, housework, and just life and trying to keep all my socials active and consistent has been a little hard. I just keep reminding myself that my page is a creative outlet, and it’s supposed to be FUN, so once it stops being fun, I have to sit back and refocus.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being able to take my boys around the valley to do fun things and experiences & create memories with them is what I’m most proud of when it comes down to this page and social media. Meeting so many amazing business owners, being able to help them in a small way, becoming friends & being part of the community of mom content creators has been the cherry on top!
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
For any creator on social media, what helps support us and motivates us to keep creating is engagement!
100% engaging with the content, liking, sharing, and tagging us when you visit a spot we posted about or a coffee shop! Engaging is so important and a great way to support.
