Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Lloyd.
Diane, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Since the age of three, I have been drawing, painting and studying the beauty in the world around me. I graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago with a degree in Fine Art and was a member of the renowned Palette and Chisel Club while living in Chicago.
I have been in numerous shows, one of which was a one-woman show in Scottsdale, Arizona. I have won first prize in many competitions, served numerous times as an art show judge and given private lessons.
My work is displayed in many private collections throughout the world and has been shown in galleries in Albuquerque, Scottsdale, Tempe, Chicago and its suburbs and is in the permanent collection of the Fine Arts Building of Chicago, a national historic landmark building. Articles about me have appeared in several newspapers.
I live and work in Scottsdale, Arizona.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I work in oil, pencil and charcoal, and I do still life, portraits and landscapes in my studio. I am inspired by all the gorgeous things and people in the world and hope to make my work similarly beautiful, so that others will notice the beauty in their surroundings.
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
The role of artists has always been and still is to chronicle life in their time. External issues have not affected my art because I am still looking for beauty.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
My work can be viewed on Daily Paintworks, Instagram, Pinterest and Google under the search term Diane Lloyd Artist.
