Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Flores.
Monique, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Makeup and hair have been my passion since childhood, after graduating from Toni & Guy in 2010 and getting Certified in Microblading I’ve been able to touch those around me and make them feel Beautiful. While in Beauty school I knew Weddings would be my specialty, I felt so comfortable creating complex styles and tailoring each look for the Bride.
In 2016 working as a hairdresser twice a week and working occasionally on weddings was nice, It allowed me to earn
money while being a stay at home mom of three. While at work one day I was inspired by the hair and makeup In Arizona Weddings Magazine and thought I wonder how they get hired to do that? I can do that too! So, I quit my job and took the leap into the unknown and started crushing goals one by one. In two short years, my Business has blossomed into something extraordinary and led into my second growing Business Microblading by Monique. From dreaming of where my skills could take me and seeing them come to life has been a wild ride. I’ve learned nothing is impossible with perseverance heart and hustle.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Hair and makeup for all events, Weddings are my specialty, but my services are used for Photoshoots, Pageants and much more. My studio is located in Chandler, but I offer mobile services, so I’m often out on location throughout the Valley at Resorts, homes, and venues. I frequently get hired for travel as well which is very nice whether it be in state or out state it’s an adventure, all while getting to do what I love! People often ask I bet you love your job and yes they are right when I arrive its a celebration so being a part of that is special to me.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Join a group many can be found on Facebook that way you can mingle with like-minded goal oriented people on the same road as you!
