Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisy Greene.

Daisy, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I love the beach and all things nautical. Funny thing I know I live in the landlocked Phoenix Valley of Arizona! I am extremely happy the beach is only a few hours away from us. I was born and raised on the small and beautiful island of Puerto Rico. This is where I started my photography journey when I was a child. I remember playing with a Polaroid as I was growing up, taking pictures was always part of my childhood and it was FUN. While I was working on my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Advertising, I took film photography classes. I purchased my first film camera and I fell in love! Soon, I was professionally taking photos for marketing collateral, social media, websites and other projects. However, I always wanted to do something more with my photography. So, I decided to follow my passion and start my photography business.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I specialize in maternity, couples, and families. After some time and exploring, I discovered I am passionate about capturing moments you don’t want to forget; moments you want to remember and share with generations to come.

I want to share moments that tell a story. I create an emotional connection with my clients. Before a session, I like to get to know them so I can capture their personalities during our session. Life is hectic, so I help my clients to slow down and connect during our session together. We laugh and have fun. I hope my clients understand and know they will get raw, real-life moments while I work my magic behind the lens.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Connect with other artists. I’ve learned so much from working, networking and collaborating with others. Look for local groups and join! It’s truly a blessing to be part of an amazing community where we collaborate and learn from each other. Community over competition. Here is one of my favorite quotes. “When you open up about a big goal, the one that requires you to ask for help, your collective responds immediately with “On it. Go, girl. I’ve got you.” Suddenly dreams become reachable. Your reach becomes longer through the support of your community.

When you open up about that big fear, the one that shakes you to your core, your community surrounds you with whispers of “You are not alone. We’ve got you.” Suddenly the weight of perfectionist-striving is lifted. When we can help each other and cheer each other on, we will accomplish things we never thought were possible.”
