Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Bielecki.
Michael, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Having been born and raised in Arizona, I spent most of my childhood camping, backpacking, hiking, and exploring the vast landscapes of the southwest. As a professional photographer and cinematographer, traveling to remote areas to capture the awe-inspiring landscapes, and working with adventure-related companies, only furthered my love for the southwest. When I discovered the newly exploding world of ‘adventure bikes’, I just had to see what it was about. I’ve spent the last ten years riding countless trails around the country, exploring hard to reach areas, and relishing in the expansive wonder of the west.
5 years ago, I moved to Denver, and connected with the founder of a brand-new company in Denver, Colorado Motorcycle Adventures. My passion for riding and background in marketing, photography and video made the perfect complement to the growing business, and it only grew from there. As Operations Manager, I’ve helped to grow this business over the years to expand our rental fleet, provide guided tours around the country, and become an invaluable resource the adventure riding community.
This past year I took the leap and moved back to my home state to start our newest branch, Arizona Motorcycle Adventures. Our company was born from a passion for off-road adventure motorcycle travel, offering fully-outfitted adventure motorcycle rentals, self-guided, and fully guided all-inclusive tours, and Arizona offers the perfect winter-focused landscape in which to do it.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a new company is never easy. Even with the backbone foundation we’ve developed in our Colorado branch, moving to a new state and demographic has its challenges. Winter is a time when most people hunker down, relax, spend time with family, and generally don’t travel as much. However, Arizona is one of the few places in the entire country that offers incredible backcountry motorcycle riding even during the winter season. Through the struggles of growing the business, marketing, reaching new clients and letting the world know we’re here has been a tremendous challenge, but my love for the Arizona desert only fuels the drive to help this business succeed.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Arizona Motorcycle Adventures – what should we know?
The bread and butter of Arizona Motorcycle Adventures revolves around dual sport off-road ready rental bikes. We offer fully equipped machines from BMW, Honda, Yamaha, Husqvarna and more, for riders from around the world to come in and take these machines off road.
We also provide all-inclusive, fully guided tours around the country for our customers looking to have an epic backcountry experience and leave the logistics to us. GPS rentals and self-guided tours are also available for those looking to forge their own path off road.
What sets us apart in this industry is the fact that we are the only Arizona outfit to offer these types of off-road ready machines and excursions, and as a premiere resource in the adventure riding community, provide and extensive knowledge base of the bikes, gear, accessories, trails, and terrain our customers are coming to explore.
We are not just a business, we are adventurers ourselves, and I’m proud of the fact that we can offer our products and our knowledge to anyone looking to explore the great southwest on two wheels.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Honesty and integrity are the core part of any businesses success, and our customers rely on our extensive knowledge and insight to prepare them for their next adventure. We ride these bikes, these trails, these roads. We know the gear, the weather patterns, the best places to ride, and providing that insight to our customers helps to ensure they have a safe and unforgettable experience like no other.
