Check out Chloe Matthews’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Matthews.

Chloe, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Our story began on August 22, 2014, when we took home Honey, our Goldendoodle. She is our first dog and we didn’t realize how special and amazing the bond is between pets and their humans. We then started volunteering/fostering for Paw Promise Animal Rescue, a local rescue, and realized how challenging it is for our rescue community to raise awareness and more importantly funds to support their day to day mission of saving lives. That’s when we decided to create PinkHoney Candle. We were already making premium soy candles for personal consumption and used that to help us get closer to our vision of raising funds for our animal rescue community.

I always say that, without Honey, our company and vision won’t exist. She has and continues to make us better human beings. We are proud to say that, as of October 3, 2018, we have raised and donated $ 5,445.93 to different reputable animal rescues in the US!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
We make vegan, animal cruelty-free, phthalate and dye-free soy candles and paw wax melts. Over the past months, we have been expanding and diversifying our products, which now includes dog themed mugs, apparel and tea light warmers.

My family has asthma and allergies, which is the reason why we only make and sell phthalate free candles. This was one of the main reasons why we started making our own candles for personal consumption.

How can artists connect with other artists?
I would say don’t be shy! Instagram was the best way we were able to find like-minded artists across the globe, and more importantly locally. I have been so lucky to have met so many amazing local artists here in AZ. We try to all meetup once a quarter to catch up and have a night of laughter. They have also been a great resource for when I have questions – business or personal. We also joined Local First AZ and have attended some of their mixers. I continue to build some good relationships through this as well.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
We are online – pinkhoneycandle.com and our new products are going to be available at Woods and Whites (@woodsandwhitesaz), located at the Biltmore Fashion Park.

We are also happy and humbled to announce that we will be at The Biltmore Gathering (@thebiltmoregathering), a weekly showcase of local and hand selected artists for the Holiday Season, located at the Biltmore Fashion Park.
