What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?

Our deepest wounds often shape us as much as our greatest joys. The pain we carry—and the ways we learn to move through it—can define who we become. We asked community members from a broad array of industries to reflect on their defining wounds and have shared the responses below.

\I never learned how to read in what you would call the traditional manner; I was taught to memorize words. So I had a hard time reading, especially reading out loud. This discouraged me from reading books because if I didn’t know the word, I didn’t know how to sound it out. Which, in turn, also led me to struggle with spelling. Read more>>
