Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Carter.
Candace, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started long before I ever imagined creating a business. I experienced PMDD from the time I was about 15 years old, but for years I didn’t understand what was happening to me. Every month I felt like I became a different person; emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, and disconnected from myself. I spent years believing something was wrong with me because no one had ever taught me how my menstrual cycle actually worked or how deeply it affects our emotions, nervous system, and overall well-being.
As I began learning about nervous system regulation, neuroscience, hormones, identity, and cycle syncing, everything started to change. Instead of fighting my body, I learned how to work with it. That journey completely transformed my life and eventually became the foundation of Sacred Feminine Flow. Today, my mission is to help women understand their menstrual cycles, reconnect with their bodies, regulate their emotions, and build lives that feel peaceful, balanced, and aligned instead of constantly surviving from one cycle to the next.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not! One of the biggest challenges has been learning to openly share my own story. PMDD is still something many women suffer with silently, and talking about deeply personal struggles takes vulnerability. There were times I questioned whether anyone would understand or whether people would take my work seriously.
Another challenge was finding my voice and truly defining my niche. In the beginning it’s easy to compare yourself to everyone else or feel like you have to fit into someone else’s business model. Over time, I realized the people I want to help don’t need another version of someone else; they need someone who’s willing to be authentic, share her own journey, and meet them where they are. Once I stopped trying to fit into a box and started building my business around my own experiences and values, everything became much more aligned.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I help women break the emotional, nervous system, and lifestyle patterns that keep PMDD and emotion-related struggles running their lives so they can feel emotionally regulated, trust themselves again, and live a life that feels intentional and fufilling.
Through my Sacred Feminine Flow Cycle Tracker & Journal, my 12 week one-on-one guidance program, and other educational resources, I teach women how to understand their menstrual cycle & feminine energy, regulate their nervous system, recognize emotional patterns, and build sustainable habits that support long-term transformation. So many women have never been taught how their cycle & nervous system influences their emotions, energy, decision-making, relationships, or even their sense of identity. My work fills that gap.
What sets my approach apart is that I don’t believe lasting change comes from simply managing symptoms. I help women get to the root of what’s keeping them stuck by combining nervous system regulation, neuroscience, identity work, mindset, lifestyle changes, and cycle awareness. True transformation happens when we change at the identity level…not just our behaviors; and that’s where my work focuses. My greatest joy is watching women go from feeling like they’re controlled by their emotions or toxic patterns to finally feeling like they can trust themselves again and live the life they dreamed of!
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Don’t be afraid to reach out to people who inspire you. Social media has made it easier than ever to connect with people in your industry, ask questions, and learn from those who have already walked the path you’re on. Having a mentor can save you years of trial and error because they provide structure, guidance, and perspective that you often can’t see on your own.
At the same time, don’t lose your own voice trying to sound like someone else’s. I think one of the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make is believing they need to become a copy of whoever is successful. Learn from people, absolutely..! but don’t become them. Your story, your perspective, and your experiences are what make your work valuable. The people you’re meant to help aren’t looking for another version of someone else. They’re looking for you!
