Nayeli Morales on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Nayeli Morales and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning, Nayeli, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So, let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Time-the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.
This is the definition that is given in the dictionary, but is this really what it means? or like Einstein said, “Time is relative”…
Truth is we all experience time differently, I found myself lost in time whe I come close to my true essence, when I express myself through art, such us painting, cooking, dancing, or just creating. I can spend hours lost in my own world where anything is possible, where I enjoy my company, where I learn more and more about myself, by following my excitement and joy as a guiding principle for life, as Bashar says.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Nayeli, I am a 37-year-old woman, wife, and mother. I found so much joy in life through art The last three years have been years or destruction and reconstruction both in a positive way. I reached a point in my life where I found myself longing for something more profound.. I had no idea where to start, but little by little I was guided to the right people, places, and information. I started to transform my life around me, as I was transforming my inner self. I found Art to be my voice, how I expressed myself and most importantly how I connect with others. Painting my emotions and feelings have taught me so much about myself, like is ok to feel no matter what those feelings are they are valid, and I also opened my mind to the endless possibilities in using different mediums for art. I surrounded myself with a very small and selective group of people who were walking the same path. As my consciousness awaked so did my creativity. I could see the evolution in my art, the types of paintings I made, the colors I use, the intention and the message I wanted to share. I learned to feel deserving, admire myself and be proud to be who I am. We are all unique as we all have something special to offer.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I embarked my healing journey, I had no idea what I was going to find. I did it almost without knowing what I was doing and why. The feeling of having everything i needed and wanted, but still feeling a void made me act. The universe is very wise and put everything in front of me to create my new path. The moment that shaped how I now see the world now, happened one year ago when I participated in a ancestral ceremony. After that there was no going back, I was shown that we are a spark of divinity navigating life with the sole purpose of existence, to experience life as humans, to be of service to others, to respect and venerate the plants, animals, and any living being and to care for our planet Earth. We are part of everything as we are all connected, we are much more then we know, and it is our mission to remember that.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Pain, one of the most feared feelings. We tend to hide the feelings that we think makes us weak, but that is far from the truth. I can say that the biggest lessons in my life were learned after experiencing some kind of pain, weather physical or emotional. With the years I have created scenarios in my mind that I think would cause me pain, so what do I do? I avoid them. We often quit before we feel pain. I remember one specific occasion, as I was hiking the mountain that I hiked so many times, but this time was different, I was tired, sore and ready to go back, instead I pushed through the pain and made it to the top, once up there I had no doubt that I had made the right decision, to keep going. I used that pain and transformed it into power to push myself a little more. I often think of this when I find myself fearing pain.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to the biggest project “Life” I am committed to live it fully. To embrace everything in it, to keep learning, to keep creating, to keep sharing. There will always be someone ready for what I must share. What matters in life and career, is that you act on your excitement, and everything will follow.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
Who am I? not my name, body, title, role nor any of my possessions. Who am I? that voice inside of me that is constantly whispering. Take everything from me and that voice will remain, that voice is me, my soul, my spirit. There is nothing in this life that can take that away. If I lay it all down, what would remain is my essence, the lessons I taught, the advice I gave, the hug we all need, the ear I once lend. A kind gesture, all the love and affection I gave, the memories I shared and the art I created, all of that will prevail.
