Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Edmondson.
Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Me getting into the blogging world all started because multiple people around me would always tell me that I knew about all the events. I noticed that the people around me seemed to enjoy the major nightlife activities like bars, night clubs, and lounges but unaware or not open to events such as interactive pop-up spaces and different events curated by black people. I thought to myself, why not help highlight and expand the events that black millennials decided to attend by giving my review on my experience at these events and spaces. During my last year of finishing up my college degree, I had a professor who told me that I wrote papers extremely well. I figured I could combine my writing skills and knowledge of events together.
Originally, I was interested in starting my blog page once I relocated to phoenix but I felt that could hinder the endless possibilities for me since I didn’t know exactly when I was moving. I still believe that I have a long way to go but the support of God, friends, and family has gotten me to where I am today. There are limited ways to support a blogger but I appreciate those people who have helped spread the word about my blog, who have read my blog, and supported this journey.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey to becoming a blogger overall is a smooth road. However, in the beginning deciding which platform is the best for you, layout, theme, what topics you want to discuss, what topics are off-limits for you are some of the struggles in my opinion when creating this type of platform. Pushing yourself to see your vision through is the ultimate obstacle or challenge you will face, that goes for whatever you do in life.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
My blog page is my company, as of right now. I am the only writer and I specialize in finding events and other activities that I feel should have more publicity then what they currently have within my community. I am known for traveling and finding all the cool events/places to explore. The thing that I am proud of the most is the amount of people that take the time out of their day to read my story, regardless of how long it may be. I believe my passion and my mission is what sets me apart from other bloggers around the world.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I do not believe that the role of luck has played any part in my life and business.
