Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthem Pleasant.
Hi Anthem, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I launched my floral career 26 years ago as a delivery driver for Peoria Florist, learning every aspect of the business—from sourcing fresh blooms to crafting customer-perfect arrangements. Over time I advanced into observing designs and operations, ultimately purchasing Peoria Florist and later expanding Sun City Flowers (suncityflorists.com). Along the way I also served as Art Designer for Pleasant Limousines, where I pioneered a solar-powered mobile EV-charging concept for entertainment venues.
In 2019 I created Bouquets & Bubbles®, an Anthem Pleasant brand, an experiential workshop where guests “Create • Connect • Give Back” by making two bouquets—one to keep, one to donate to someone in need. I’m also the inventor behind patented products like the Toothbrush Pillow (a hands-free toothbrush holder) and Postal Notice (real-time mail notifications), and I’m actively pursuing licenses for those innovations to partners across industries.
To date we’ve brought Bouquets & Bubbles®, an Anthem Pleasant brand, to community centers and private studios across the Valley, welcoming hundreds of guests eager to craft bouquets that delight and comfort. Those participants have donated arrangements, from cheerful spring posies to elegant autumn bouquets, directly into the hands of patients, caregivers, and seniors in need. Our formal partnership with Phoenix Children’s has deepened our impact: together with their team we designed a “Popcorn Vase” program in which every workshop includes a playful arrangement for bedside delivery. That initiative alone will yield hundreds of specially curated bouquets for pediatric units, each one accompanied by encouraging notes from participants. Through that collaboration, we’re not only brightening hospital rooms, but also creating meaningful moments of connection between volunteers, families, and hospital staff.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth would imply there were no sudden pivots, and that certainly hasn’t been my experience. Partnering with hospitals meant covering upfront costs until sponsorships caught up. Licensing my inventions—like the Toothbrush Pillow and Postal Notice—required navigating trademark filings and legal negotiations, walking away from deals that didn’t align with my values. Throughout each trial, I leaned on the very traits Harvard Business School identifies in successful entrepreneurs: curiosity drove me to test dozens of class formats; adaptability and decisiveness helped me pivot under pressure; risk tolerance and a comfort with failure taught me to view each misstep as valuable feedback; and persistence, fueled by long-term focus, carried me through years of building up to hospital partnerships. Embracing every setback as a stepping-stone rather than a roadblock has been essential to growing both my floral ventures and my innovation portfolio.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bouquets & Bubbles® is more than a floral workshop—it’s a community experience built around our mantra Create • Connect • Give Back. We invite guests of all skill levels to design two arrangements side by side: one they take home as a keepsake, and one we donate to brighten the day of someone in need. By specializing in this dual-bouquet model, we’ve built a reputation for turning a simple creative class into a meaningful act of service. What truly sets us apart is our commitment to seamless philanthropy—every petal, vase, and sip of celebratory champagne is thoughtfully curated to foster connection among participants while delivering tangible comfort to our nonprofit partners. From art studios in local communities to signature “Popcorn Vase” fundraisers in collaboration with Phoenix Children’s, each event is designed end-to-end by our in-house team: all materials are provided, logistics are managed, and every flower is sourced with sustainability in mind. Brand-wise, we’re most proud of turning Bouquets & Bubbles® into a licensed concept that other organizations and flower shops can adopt, extending our impact far beyond the Valley. I want your readers to know that whether they’re seeking a unique team-building activity, a heartfelt date night, or a way to give back with friends, Bouquets & Bubbles® offers a turnkey experience that combines creative fun with purposeful giving—and that every arrangement they make truly makes a difference.
How do you think about happiness?
I’m happiest when creativity, community, and compassion intersect. Whether I’m designing a custom arrangement, seeing a workshop participant beam with pride, or knowing a bedside bouquet will brighten a hospitalized child’s day, that blend of artistry and impact fuels me. Expanding my intellectual property—licensing Bouquets & Bubbles® and my patented inventions—keeps me intellectually engaged, but it’s the moments of genuine human connection and giving back that bring me the greatest joy.
