We recently had the chance to connect with Mandelynn Moses and have shared our conversation below.
Mandelynn, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I recently got to knock a couple things off of my bucket list. I went to Zadar, Croatia to see/hear the sea organ and watch the sunset, something I have wanted to do for years. I went to Greece and stayed in a cave hotel with a jacuzzi looking over the ocean. This was a trip I have only dreamt about and feel so incredibly blessed that I got to finally experience it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Mandelynn Moses—author of I Am Not Your Villain; I Am Your Mother. My book is all about breaking generational cycles, healing family wounds, and turning pain into power. It’s a raw and real journey of how I overcame extreme hardship and how we can all rise above the stories that try to define us.
Beyond writing, I’m also the founder of The Trinity Code™, a movement dedicated to transforming relationships—whether with God, yourself, or others—because I believe our connections are the cornerstone of peace and prosperity. What makes my work unique is that it blends spirituality, emotional intelligence, and lived experience into practical wisdom people can actually use.
Right now, I’m especially excited about sharing my message through speaking, retreats, and even my Trinity jewelry line that carries the reminder, “God’s got your back.” At the end of the day, my mission is simple: to help people heal their hearts, strengthen their relationships, and remember that they are never broken—they’re becoming.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was everything and nothing all at once—a mother, a daughter, a student, an employee. I was “too much” and “not enough” in the same breath. Some said I was smart, others said I was dumb. I was called beautiful and ugly, fat and skinny, someone who talks too much yet has a beautiful voice. No matter what I did, I was never “just right” for anyone.
Then one day, I woke up and realized the truth: I am none of the labels the world or even my family placed on me. I am only who God says I am. I am a woman of God, created with intention, and I live for Him alone. And in that truth—I found freedom. I found joy. I found me.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Was there ever a time I almost gave up? Yes—more than once. Covid was the start of everything unraveling. Practically overnight, I lost my business, my relationship, my nomadic lifestyle, and the identity I had worked so hard to build. My mirror of life shattered before my eyes, and for years I tried to pick up the pieces, only to keep cutting myself in the process. Every time I stood up, it felt like life sucker-punched me back down—one blow after another.
Then, about a year ago, came the breaking point: my heart literally stopped. As I lay in the hospital bed, I was ready to go “home,” my real home. But God spoke to me and said, “You haven’t published your book yet. I still need you here. Will you please stay?” I remember thinking, You can’t keep me here just for a book, but in that moment, I understood He had a greater plan for my life.
The six months that followed were the darkest of my life. I battled grief, especially from the pain of my relationship with my daughter, while doctors tested me for every cancer under the sun trying to figure out what had happened. I felt like I had nothing left to live for. And yet—through all that loss and despair—I discovered something profound: this is what healing actually looks like. My old life had to fall apart because I no longer fit inside those constructs. I had to be reborn… literally. Every drop of blood in my body is brand new. Now, I stand in a stronger place, fully alive and ready to do the work God created me to do.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Is the public version of me the real me? Absolutely, yes. I know a lot of people would say that—but I really mean it. Integrity and authenticity are the highest values in my life. A friend once told me, “Mandelynn, the thing I love most about you is that I never have to guess who you are. You’re the same person every single time I see you.” That’s my favorite compliment—and it’s one I hear often.
I teach a workshop called Self-Love Mastery because I had to learn to love and accept myself first. I was raised to believe I was unlovable, and so I made it my mission to unlearn that lie and embrace every part of who I am. That’s why my book, I Am Not Your Villain; I Am Your Mother, is so raw and honest—it was written to show others that there’s nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of.
Do I say things in the comfort of my home that I wouldn’t say publicly? Of course—I have a quirky sense of humor that not everyone always “gets.” But outside of that, what you see is what you get. I see life as a cosmic joke while most take it so seriously, and I’m here to remind people that true freedom comes when you stop pretending and start living authentically.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What do I understand deeply that most people don’t? That this world is not real. The physical world is full of distractions designed to keep us from remembering our true identity—a Divine Being, a representation of God. Everything physical is an illusion. We see it, smell it, taste it, touch it, and conclude it must be real. But one day, all of it will disappear. What remains is your soul and the experiences you participated in.
There are only three things in this world that are truly real: your breath, water, and your spine. The breath moves water up the spine, circulating energy through the body. Every thought, every action, every behavior is recorded there. That is what you leave with. Not your money, not your kids, not your house, not your designer clothes.
People get it wrong—they think they’re here to be happy. So they chase it in material things and relationships, only to find emptiness. The truth is: fulfillment doesn’t exist in this world. What we’re really searching for is peace. And peace can only be found within, in the remembrance of who you are.
Suffering is inevitable here—life moves in constant ebbs and flows. Sometimes you’ll feel happy, sometimes you’ll feel sad. That’s just the way of life. But nothing can take away your peace once you find it. I wish people could see this. I struggle sometimes to explain it, but I long for people to see the world the way I do—so beautiful, even amidst the pain and chaos.
