Madeline Levy shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Madeline , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Any fitness classes or going to community events. Phoenix has so many organizations and local studios that host events all over the valley. It is so nice to meet new people and be able to share a common interest. Moving the body helps with so much. It is also nice these events are open to all levels and ages.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! I am an Arizona native. My background is in event planning and I am an event assistant at this time. I am working on finding my niche and am enjoying participating in all activities of mg interests that I enjoy. My personal brand is sharing positivity no matter what role or job I am taking part. I choose to stay positive and help spread a good spirit to others. Arizona has a lot of opportunities and I am glad to know I have many options in terms of working and building a community. I want to continue to expand my skills.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That you have to be on a specific timeline. Whether for work, relationships, finances, etc. timing is something we cannot always control. I have learned to really let things play out and have it make sense of when it happens. As a child I had many ideas of what I wanted my life to look like as specific ages and times. Now as an adult I have accepted things will change and you may not always meet your goals when you first thought. There are many factors in our lives that can play a pivotal role to how plans and milestones occur. I had very strict expectations for myself that I have had to be okay with letting go as I age and evolve.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
To be appreciative and grateful for everything you have! I try to practice this today. Even if times are tough I feel very lucky to have my basic needs. Such as a place to sleep, food, a job… it is easy to take these things for granted. It is important to take a step back and show gratitude. Also I need to remember to be easier on myself, even if something has me down I have to remember I will always have friends and family that will support me and help me if needed. Things will work out in the end and it is okay to have good and bad moments.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Being active and staying busy. I am a planner and like to commit to my plans. I am very motivated and proactive. I like to be productive and get things done. I prioritize my health and make time for fitness but also am very hard-working. I prioritize social time as well and enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I do prefer to keep a filled schedule but also make time to rest and enjoy.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, if it was something beneficial to me or something I loved I would agree with no expectations of compensation. There has been many times where I will volunteer my time ,or help a friend, or work for free if I feel a personal connection. Money comes and goes but time we cannot make back.
