Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Gabrielle Foote

Gabrielle Foote shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Gabrielle, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I recently started Pilates, and it’s become more than just a way to get in shape—it’s where I feel grounded. I use the last 3 minutes of cooldown as my gratitude time, and it’s made a big difference in how I start my day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Gabrielle Foote. I am a wife to an amazing husband, a mother to two beautiful girls. I am also the Board President & CEO of Survivors’ Power, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to breaking the financial barriers survivors of sexual violence face when seeking trauma-informed mental health care. We provide scholarships for treatment at The Meadows Behavioral Healthcare in Scottsdale, AZ, supporting survivors aged 13 and older from all backgrounds.

In addition to my nonprofit, I recently started a BookTok account, which has quickly become a joyful and grounding creative outlet. Sharing my love for books, connecting with a growing community, and building safe spaces for honest conversations has been a powerful complement to my work with Survivors’ Power. Whether through healing or storytelling, I’m passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
One of my best friends—who later became my maid of honor—truly saw me. With her, I could be completely myself and always felt supported and loved. We met when I was 20, and her friendship gave me the freedom to grow into the person I am today, without judgment.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, my first event for Survivors’ Power didn’t go as planned—we had a much smaller turnout than expected. I started to doubt myself. Can I really run a nonprofit? Is this truly my purpose? But after taking some time to reflect and speaking with my board, I gained clarity. I was able to learn from the experience, grow, and come back stronger.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
My husband—there’s truly no one I admire more. He’s honorable, generous, and caring, with integrity woven into every part of who he is. He’s motivated, ambitious, and romantic—a wonderful father to our children and the husband I once prayed for. He gives his honest opinion, but always with kindness and respect, never making anyone feel less than —even though he’s incredibly intelligent.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most peaceful when I’m on the couch, snuggled up next to my husband with one or both of our kids resting their heads on me. We are typically watching a K-Reality Series, laughing, and having a great time. I also feel deep gratitude at night when I reflect on five things I’m thankful for, and during the cool down in Pilates when I take a moment to quietly express those gratitudes.
