Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Damian Gomes

Damian Gomes shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Damian, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My neighbors cat visits me when I’m doing yard work and thats nice.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Damian and I’m a visual artist working predominantly in oil and acrylic paints. I like the figure and pushing the limits of abstraction. If I’m not painting I’m probably thinking about a painting.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I would say my father. He was a working man ,all of his life. He was a builder. A carpenter. He could always figure it out, whatever it was that needed figuring. There’s a lot of that in painting.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yea , last week. I opened a bag of coffee wrong and the grounds spilled everywhere. I must’ve lost 10 cups of coffee that day. Somehow ,I just got through it.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
Pretty sure Epstein did not kill himself.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
Idk , but I hope it’s something funny
