Antonio Bomar shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Antonio , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Something that makes me lose track of time and find myself is time with family. I enjoy every moment seeing my uncles and aunts, cousins and especially my nieces and nephews. As they grow older and more mature I’m so happy and proud of them. Memories we shared and always laughing. I’m really heavy on family time and they know I’ll do anything for them.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, my name is Antonio Bomar and I’m a musician by the name of teezy Mcfly. I record, produce music. I’m a sample based producer so I mainly sample vinyl records or all genres and crate my own touch or the loop or create “chops” for production. All
My music is on all streaming platforms for your enjoyment.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory would have to be all my equipment to create the music I put out. Everything I have is at an arms length. With technology I can make notes or even crest something right on the spot. Instead of waiting or looking for studio time, I can just power on my computer and release all my creativity.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
It started when I released my first beat tape and got soo much positive feedback. I was over thinking and scared that people wouldn’t like it and it wasn’t relevant to the sound we hear nowadays. With that being said, I realized that it’s all in the ears, people are going to gravitate towards what they like, and if they don’t, that’s also okay. Being confident in what you do and showing people your art is power to show you made something out of nothing and they have the power to do it to.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie in the industry that I’m in is that you need high quality sound equipment and the most expensive studio. I don’t agree in my opinion. You just need a good ear and confidence in whatever art you create and make the most of it. If you have the expense, by all means! But i I don’t believe you need to put yourself in debt to create something beautiful to share.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I genuinely love making music. And every beat has a story within it. I want my music to translate to your story. I want the listener to feel what I feel when I created it. I want people to understand I did it my way and I try to stay outside the box as much as possible, not for attention, but for my art to be considered as an art gallery of expression.
