Jasmine Hoang shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I own a private business that I built from the ground up. I keep it personal and not even my family knows about it. I have found that when people are aware of the bakery in which you get your bread, they’re more likely to set fire to it. I intend to reveal my ownership of it once it hits a certain revenue goal. Right now, it’s the project that I’m most proud of.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jasmine Hoang (Stage name is Empress) and I am a young entrepreneur. I am heavily involved in the arts and entertainment industry where you can find my craft within modeling, acting, dance, & vocal. Additionally, I am a strong public speaker and leader which has led me to landing multiple MC jobs. I also am a founder of a local nonprofit that benefits the community through service, education, and other resources. Although I also run multiple businesses, my biggest brand is still myself as an individual. I market and promote myself the most because all of my experiences and stories should emphasized first and not just what I’ve established. I am a transcendent entrepreneur working tirelessly to retire my immigrant parents and become the most successful in my family.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I have always served my community and that includes people that have done me wrong. Overtime I have learned that not every organization or individual has a heart with pure intentions. My mindset and views are not identical to others. I have come to accept that I cannot serve everyone but only those who want and appreciate it. Life has taught me to only prioritize myself and those that deserve my time and energy. Leaving behind the mentality that I should stay and give even if I’m being hurt or used has been the part of me to let go. It taught me lessons of great value and launched me into higher heights.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I always refused to adopt the mentality of weak wills. I never want to see myself as a victim. This is why I always see my falls as lessons and blessings in disguises. Anything that has ever hurt me has only returned to uplift me. Without my hardships, I would not have the characteristics and resilience that I do today. I am grateful for pain as it is my food for growth.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would definitely say that I value authenticity and integrity. Being truly yourself and never breaking any morals is important to me. I hold both myself and my friends to a high standard in that matter.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Always. In 2025, I anticipate to surpass my revenue goal and secure the stable cashflow. I enjoy every second of my career because I’m always chasing my dreams. I started from absolutely nothing. No help, tons of betrayal, and eye opening disasters. The debt scared me at first too but after understanding that risks = rewards, I threw myself in without looking back. It was the best choice that I made because the cash flow was exactly as I wanted it to. I am even considering establishing classes for encourage youth to follow in my foot steps to financial freedom and mental peace.
