Hi Oren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Dr. Oren Tessler and founder and partner at Defyne Plastic Surgery. I am a board certified plastic surgeon accredited in both Canada and the USA. My training in plastic and reconstructive surgery was carried out at McGill University in Montreal and Harvard in Boston. My practice began in the academic sphere of the field operating, teaching, and performing clinical research (mostly in breast cancer reconstruction) at LSU and Tulane prior to coming to the Valley. Tessler Plastic Surgery (now Defyne) was founded in 2020. Our goal is to bridge the divide between academic and cosmetic plastic surgery, incorporating the latest research and technologies being advanced at the leading research institutions and implementing them to our patients’ advantages.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The balance between work and family is always a challenge, especially with young children at home. Expanding the business requires a team whose members each have unique needs and desires. This is the same for each of our amazing patients. The objective to provide a rewarding experience for patients, medical personnel, surgeons, and management is an ever evolving process that requires attention to detail and can be magical when flowing smoothly.
