Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Robinett.
Hi Nikki, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! I’m Dr. Nikki, a pediatric physical therapist and the founder of Moving and Grooving Pediatric PT. I started this practice because I wanted to support families in a way that felt more personal, less overwhelming, and more in tune with everyday life. After working in traditional therapy settings, I realized that many families were feeling frustrated—sitting on waitlists, traveling to crowded clinics, and feeling unsure if they were doing “enough” to help their child.
I knew there had to be a better way to help babies and toddlers meet their milestones while also empowering parents to feel confident in their child’s progress. That’s how the idea for Moving and Grooving PT was born—a concierge pediatric therapy service that brings expert care right into the home. I wanted families to feel seen, heard, and supported in their own space.
From there, we’ve grown into a small, passionate team that also includes occupational therapists, serving families across the Phoenix and Scottsdale area and into the East and West Valley. Most recently, I created Confident Beginnings, a virtual parent coaching membership to support baby development from 0–18 months. It’s designed for parents who want expert guidance without jumping straight into formal therapy, and it’s been such a joy to connect with families that way, too.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any business journey, there have definitely been challenges along the way. One of the biggest struggles has been spreading awareness that physical therapy doesn’t have to take place in a traditional clinic. There’s still a lot of confusion about what pediatric PT looks like, especially for babies and toddlers, and I’ve had to do a lot of education around how coaching based, play-focused therapy can actually be more effective—especially when it’s integrated into the family’s routines.
There’s also been a learning curve as I’ve balanced being a business owner and therapist. Building a support system—both personally and professionally—has been key. It’s taken time to develop processes, build a team, and find the right rhythm. But even through the bumps, I’ve always come back to the “why”—empowering families and helping kids thrive. That keeps me grounded and motivated.
As you know, we’re big fans of Moving and Grooving Pediatric PT. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Moving and Grooving Pediatric PT, we provide in-home, pediatric physical and occupational therapy for kids of all ages. Our mission is to help kids move with confidence, reach important milestones, and thrive in their everyday environments—all while supporting and empowering their families.
While we serve many babies and young children, we also work with older kids and teens to support movement, strength, coordination, and independence. Our sessions are individualized and goal-focused.
We specialize in delivering therapy in a child’s natural environment, so it’s functional, engaging, and centered around real-life routines. We take a whole-child and whole-family approach, meaning we don’t just focus on the diagnosis or delay—we look at the child’s personality, interests, and environment to create meaningful progress.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how we build strong, lasting relationships with families. We’re known for being cheerleaders, creative, and collaborative. We work closely with caregivers so they feel confident in what’s happening during and between sessions.
In addition to our therapy services, I also created Confident Beginnings, a virtual parent coaching membership for families with babies from birth to 18 months. It’s for parents who want developmental support to invest in their child before any signs of delay. Confident Beginnings offers on demand recordings, cheat sheets, and access to expert coaching—giving parents the tools to understand and support their baby’s development from the very beginning.
What sets us apart is our deep commitment to personalized care. Whether we’re providing in-home therapy or virtual coaching, we meet families where they are—literally and emotionally. We aim to make therapy feel less overwhelming and more empowering, always focused on progress, confidence, and connection.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
