Inspiring Conversations with Brooke Brown of BB Media Industries

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Brown

Brooke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Upon completing studies at the University of Arizona and receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Communication, I pursued a career in the Las Vegas nightlife scene. However, due to the recession at the time, I was laid off and had to start from scratch looking for any job available upon relocating to Arizona. While in my job hunt, I started building what would become BB Media Industries, LLC project by project. The first being a sports chat show utilizing the now deceased Google+ social platform and their “Hangouts On Air” product to connect people called SportsChat.TV. Those episodes are still available to watch on YouTube today, but the creation ended in 2012. There was a brief attempt at morphing this project into a podcast, but ultimately it had lost it’s appeal as my interest in sports changed.

The next project to begin is what is now known as the podcast Trending Topics with BB. The first few episodes also utilized Google+ “Hangouts On-Air”, but then morphed into a strictly audio podcast as it was the early days of podcasting in 2013. I should mention that music and more specifically electronic dance music has been a constant in my life since the late 1990’s, so as I started to build the format, and to my surprise and rescue at the time, I was starting to get “yes” replies to my requests for guests. I am very grateful that freestyle music legends NuShooz and DJ/Producer Markus Schulz were featured guests VERY early on in the podcast. Trending Topics with BB isn’t solely a music podcast, but their willingness gave me the confidence to keep making episodes and pursuing this media form. The podcast has 171 episodes and will continue in the future.

The other project under the BB Media Industries umbrella now, is The Love of Music Project. It also began around 2012 as a blog that has always intended to showcase talent and keep the love of music alive. This blog turned content website features song, track, album, artist, concert, event and anything else related reviews. It has been a way to showcase artists and go more in depth about their artwork.

In the current state of BB Media Industries, both Trending Topics with BB and The Love of Music Project serve as Public Relations opportunities to accompany the Beat Boost Media Advertising & Marketing services that currently aim to help electronic dance music and independent artists navigate the changing world of the music industry. The 12 year journey of building this company as these projects kept growing and gaining traction as I built my digital advertising and marketing career through the corporate world in different industries.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The main obstacles/challenges have been growing, experiencing mental health setbacks, and keeping the brand alive all of these years. It seemed like a “hobby” that wouldn’t last as I still had to pay my bills, and gain the necessary experience and wisdom a person gets experiencing life. Despite the challenges, I have always felt that being a entrepreneur has been my destiny. For awhile, I thought pursuing my company was the reason for multiple burn out periods, but I realized the burn out comes from the grind of the corporate world.

BB Media Industries is a monthly advertising and/or marketing service that focuses on helping electronic dance music and/or independent musicians/artists gain more industry recognition through music streams, additions to playlists, event bookings, and event ticket sales with media ad buying, social media marketing, and optimization.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Music, learning, and spreading great vibes. My life motto is “I Just Want to Dance”. I am firm believer in spreading great vibes is the catalyst of receiving great vibes if done with the best intentions.
