Inspiring Conversations with Armando Acosta of Acosta Rentals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Armando Acosta.

Hi Armando, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was laid off late March of 2022 and come May my daughter was graduating high school and on her way to college. We needed tables and chairs for my daughter’s graduation dinner. I no longer wanted to rent them and decided I would purchase 5 tables and 30 chairs with the intention to start a rental business. The inflatable bounce house was purchased soon after. In theory it would eventually pay for itself and start generating some profit to cover school expenses. Come August my daughter started college and Acosta Rentals had its first rental.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Challenge we had at the beginning was how do we transport equipment efficiently and safely with very little funding. I was able to purchase a trailer but quickly realized I needed to add walls to it for safety. Through trial and error I modified used utility garden wagons and dollies to help load the equipment off and on the trailer. This is our 3rd year and I’m still tinkering and improving things. I do still have a 40 hr a week job and sometimes have to work around my schedule but luckily most party rentals are on the weekend.

As you know, we’re big fans of Acosta Rentals . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’m proud of the hard work my family has done in order to make this small business work and I couldn’t do it without them. We are a small family business that puts their name behind the business and happily provides a service with integrity. My daughter is about to graduate from college and I’d like to take a moment to thank all of our family, friends, and customers for their continued support and encouragement, thank you, thank you. What sets us apart is we use Lifetime brand, tables, and chairs for their comfort and durability. We constantly get complements on the clean equipment and on how comfortable the chairs are. We are very dependable in 3 years we haven’t missed a delivery and our slogan is Acosta Rentals delivering all Phoenix surrounding areas and beyond!!

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
There’s many, it’s important to be optimistic, patient and never give up. If you build a business believe the customers will come. I offer a better quality chair at a competitive price and have to be optimistic and patient that the right customers will find me.
