Hi Emily and Ella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ella and I met in the corporate world, both working traditional nine to five jobs that, on paper, looked like the right path. But underneath it, we were both naturally creative and felt pulled toward something more. I came from an acting background, having worked in film and television, while Ella had built a strong presence as an influencer with hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok. We were already living in two worlds, one structured and corporate, the other creative and entrepreneurial, and it quickly became clear that we didn’t want to choose between them.
What started as conversations about collaborating turned into something much bigger. We realized we didn’t want to be confined by office politics, rigid schedules, or the idea that success only comes from climbing a corporate ladder. We’ve definitely faced our share of challenges, but the entire process has been exciting and rewarding. The biggest hurdle has been building something completely new to us. While we both have very entrepreneurial spirits and are naturally scrappy and creative, we had never built anything this technical before. Creating an app from the ground up is a completely different level, and it required us to quickly learn and navigate a whole new skill set.
What started as an idea and a dream for ourselves and for others quickly became something we had to bring to life, fast. We had to adapt, learn, and problem solve in real time, which pushed us in ways we hadn’t experienced before. That steep learning curve was probably our biggest challenge, but it has also been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When it came to mentorship, we leaned heavily on people around us who had experience in areas we were stepping into for the first time. We were fortunate to have friends in the tech world, including those working at major companies and others who had built apps before, who helped guide us through the more technical aspects and early setup.
We also relied on our community in a different way. Family and friends played a big role in testing the platform, giving honest feedback on what worked and what didn’t. Many of our friends are creators themselves who are working toward doing this full time, so their input was incredibly valuable.
