We’re looking forward to introducing you to Hannah Briscoe. Check out our conversation below.
Hannah, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately I have been really into thrift shopping! I have always had a love for antiques and vintage items but I’ve really started to love the hunt! It’s a great way to save the planet and also curate a really cool home decor collection.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Hannah with Eveve Photography. I am a wedding photographer! I photograph weddings in Phoenix, Arizona and beyond for adventurous couples who want their story told in a colorful, artistic and authentic way. I pride myself on being professional, creative, and inclusive. I truly believe that being true to yourself can change the world. We all have had to grow and find ourselves, and I believe that your uniqueness is your strength. I always strive to capture YOU in my photography.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I really have gotten to know who I am in my 30s. In my 20s, I knew who I was, but not fully. I grew up in a high-demand religion who told me who and what I had to be. Leaving that high-demand religion in my 30s really opened my eyes and let me explore who I truly am. It was truly the most difficult but more rewarding experience!
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I struggle with an autoimmune disorder, and I am no stranger to chronic pain–daily. Although it is SO difficult, it truly has helped me to empathize with others who are dealing with hardships and chronic conditions. Success is great, but it’s really in those tough moments that you learn and grow. I have learned to be less judgmental of people’s lives and what they are going through–just because someone LOOKS okay does not mean they are okay. My struggles have taught me SO much empathy.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
That aliens are 10000000 percent real.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I really hope people remember how passionate I was. As a woman, our passions are sometimes looked over because of roles we are “supposed” to be in. I want people to remember me as resilient, always doing what I love, but also kind and gentle.
