Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Limon.
Hi Jonathan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started back in 2022 after graduating from Arizona State University. I wanted to start a new hobby and explore my new interest in photography. Self taught through trial and error, I would enjoy doing photo shoots for fun. I first learned how to understand the functions of my camera and moved on from there, practicing different styles as I grew. Over time, I would add new gear to my collection as needed.
Today, I now operate a photography business. I specialize in portraits shooting family photos, graduations, maternities, and lifestyle shoots. I also shoot events such as quinceaneras, small weddings, and work catering. I have grown as a person and business owner, learning to communicate effectively with potential clients while also bringing a sense of comfort to all my photoshoots. I love getting to meet different people from different walks of life. Capturing their special moments is what I live for, finding the beauty or action in such small moments as they unfold.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely has not been the easiest road to success! There’s a lot of grit and grind. To this day, I still find myself asking questions while operating the business. I’m still a student in life, so I will always be learning and seeking new methods to practice. Although I have come a long way already in my journey, I am still a far way from where I see myself.
Biggest obstacles come from not understanding a certain technique to having to learn them on the go. I always review my past work and realize things I could have tried differently to achieve the result I wanted. Understanding the right type of equipment for a project is essential, especially when you don’t really have someone to really advise you on what you need.

I operate JLimon Visualz, I’m the principal photographer and creative director. I have been operating since the start of the year in 2024. I specialize in working with people to achieve results they envision. Most of my work comes from portrait shoots, events, and social media content. What sets me apart is I have been in the position of wanting to tell a story through visuals, but not knowing how to or who to reach out to in order to help make this come true. I come from a background in music, so I have always had a creative edge when it comes to creating.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was just getting together with my friends and recording some music in high school. At this point in my life, There were a lot of things happening around me. So the times where I would make music felt like I had purpose and something that really reflected who I was. Having friends and family that believed in my vision and support really showed me who I can rely on. When you share ideas you jump on, it’s important to have people there for you who don’t separate you from what makes you.
