Exploring Life & Business with Danielle Young of Inspired Action Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Young.

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Years ago, I survived an abusive relationship that nearly cost me my life. I left with nothing but a diaper bag and my three-week-old baby. I tried to move forward through traditional talk therapy, but it did nothing for me. I still felt broken, numb, and disconnected from myself.

Everything began to shift when I found yoga. It was the first time I felt safe in my own body. That experience changed everything. I earned my yoga teacher certification so I could share what had helped me heal.

Not long after, I discovered self-inquiry. Learning to question the thoughts that caused my suffering completely changed how I saw myself and my past. I got certified in that work, then continued on to become a Master Certified Life Coach and a Certified Nervous System Trainer.

All of that led to the creation of my company, Inspired Action Wellness, where I now help women who’ve experienced abuse stop living in survival mode and start building lives that feel like their own again.

Today, I’m an international speaker, bestselling author, coach, and advocate.I help women reconnect with their strength and create a life that reflects who they truly are, not what their past tried to make them believe.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been anything but smooth. Healing isn’t linear—it’s messy, uncomfortable, and at times, overwhelming.

When I left my abusive relationship, I had a 3 week old baby, no job, no money, no plan, and no idea who I was anymore. Those early days were all about survival—taking care of my daughter, finding safety, and trying to hold myself together when everything inside me was falling apart. I really had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I needed to be the mom my daughter needed and that included getting myself on a path to success; which I did.

Even now on the other side of all of that, I still have moments of doubt. I still struggle with imposter syndrome, especially when I’m standing on stages or coaching women who are or were in the same boat I was. There are some days I look in the mirror and think, “What are you doing?” Thankfully I have the tools to get through those thoughts, but they still come up, especially when I have to put myself out there and market myself and my company.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in helping women who’ve experienced abuse rebuild confidence, self-worth, and a sense of identity. My work centers on body-based practices because trauma lives in the body. I help women move out of survival mode and start feeling safe, strong, and connected to themselves again.

I’m known for making healing practical and real. I don’t use surface-level mindset tools or quick fixes. Everything I teach is rooted in lived experience and backed by science.

What sets me apart is that I’ve lived the journey I now guide others through. I’ve walked the walk as a survivor who became a certified professional in multiple healing modalities. That combination—real experience and formal training—creates a level of compassion and trust that’s hard to find in traditional coaching spaces.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the impact this work is having beyond coaching. Through my book, my talks, and my coaching, I’m raising awareness about domestic violence and helping women see that they’re not alone, and that healing is possible. My mission is to help women move out of a victim mindset so they no longer feel worthless or unlovable, but capable, confident, and in control of their own lives, and build a life that reflects their strength, not their past.

At Inspired Action Wellness, I offer one-on-one coaching and live events that help women rebuild confidence, reconnect with themselves, and start creating lives that feel like their own again. My bestselling book, “From Surviving to Thriving: A Journey Beyond Trauma,” expands on that same message. It’s a guide for women who want to stop living in survival mode and start taking their power back. Whether it’s through coaching, my book, or speaking on stages around the world, my goal is always the same: to help women heal, grow, and live with the confidence and peace they deserve.

Any big plans?
I’m starting a podcast soon to create more honest conversations around healing, confidence, and rebuilding after abuse. I also want to make my work more accessible, so I’m creating a membership and group coaching option for women who may not be ready for, or can’t afford, one-on-one coaching but still want support and community.

There are more speaking events, workshops, group self-inquiry sessions, and podcast appearances on the horizon, which I’m really looking forward to. Every opportunity to share this message helps reach another woman who might still feel stuck or alone.

My biggest goal moving forward is to keep spreading awareness about domestic violence, continue breaking the silence around healing, and remind women everywhere that they can take their power back and build a life that truly feels like their own.
