Conversations with Jessica Truesdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Truesdale.

Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
It all started about 10 years ago when I decided to attend school to receive my associate’s degree in Aesthetics. I spent the first 6 years of my career performing facials, hair removal, chemical peels, etc. until one day I decided that I was ready to branch out. I took a course for eyelash extensions and never looked back. For the last 4 years of my career, I have worked on perfecting the craft and artistry that is Lashing! I have watched other individuals and companies around me blossom and I said to myself “I want to achieve that too!” I again decided to branch out and see what else the world has to offer. I now own and run my own business named Eyelove Lashes LLC. The sky is the limit and there are so many ideas and directions I plan on taking to further grow my business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t think that starting your own business is ever a smooth road but it is so worth it in the end. I would say that the biggest challenges have just been finding what products, locations, and ideas will work for me on a daily basis and help me advance in the industry.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in volume eyelash extensions. I am able to perform any type of extensions requested but volume is my absolute favorite. I love the look that this type of set creates. It is so beautiful. I think that my knowledge, professionalism, and work ethics set me apart from others. My dedication and drive keep me going on a daily basis.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up in a salon environment. My family is full of hairstylists, nail technicians, and aestheticians. This industry is in my blood. Every day after school as a child, I would go to the salon that my aunt and uncle owned where my mother worked as a nail technician. I remember thinking to myself that when I grew up, I wanted to be in the industry but in a different way. I just didn’t know which direction I wanted to take until I was about 28. It forever changed my life.
