Today we’d like to introduce you to Ibrahim Kromah.
Hi Ibrahim, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was 16, I remember watching the great Gatsby. It’s one of those things where you see something it freezes you in your tracks . And from there, you know exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life. I almost wanted to re-create everything I saw. The Suits, the people, the atmosphere, the ambience, all of it. A decade later, I would start Uomini. When I moved to Arizona for flight school I was surrounded by people that owned businesses. And that inspired me to finally start Uomini. I opened the LLC and began drawing suits on my i pad for flight. I would send these designs to manufacturers and eventually would come to make lots of samples. I worked until i finally got the correct product. Fast forward to today I work with 8 manufacturers and we create custom bespoke clothing for everyone worldwide.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Finding the correct manufacturer was a hassle. Either they would get our product wrong multiple times or charge us crazy prices for subpar work. I had to be adamant that I want to compete with Ralph Lauren. I need quality.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an air force veteran. I served 4 years as an oral surgery technician. I left to pursue flight school, which I became a private pilot last week. I have a few ratings to go and some hours to build before I reach the airlines. I believe in stepping stones to reach my dreams.
What are your plans for the future?
We’re working on making commercials and releasing more Uomini projects. We also have some people lined up that we’re going to work with.
After joining the airlines we’ll be able to invest in Uomini properly. Make it a household name. And eventually begin real estate ventures, get investors and build Gatsby world.
