Today we’d like to introduce you to Bree Christiansen.
Bree, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey with health and wellness really started from day one. I was born very prematurely, which led to some digestive and system function issues. This led me to develop early-on an interest in “digging deeper” in the study of the human body and nutrition. I actually got my first real foods encyclopedia around age 11!
Additionally, around the same age, my mother became the head coach of our year-round, competitive swim team, which meant that physical exercise quickly became a lifestyle in our home.
Between my fit upbringing and my personal health journey, being active, fit, and healthy has truly become a deeply rooted passion and way of life. I took the devotion I had to wellness with me to college where I earned two degrees, one in Exercise & Wellness, and the other in Holistic nutrition (I also have earned a number of certifications). I felt it essential to have a great understanding of both worlds (fitness and nutrition), because it’s not enough to merely “exercise”… to be truly healthy and well we need to move, eat AND think in a truly nourishing manner.
I have had many wonderful opportunities to enhance the lives of others through proper exercise and nutrition habits, while simultaneously expanding my knowledge and abilities. I have worked with a number of top-notch companies, including the world-renowned EXOS. Currently, I’m working out of Scottsdale, Arizona where I help a range of clients find their greatest strength and vibrance in a comprehensive, highly nourishing manner that encompasses movement, food, and the mind.
While the more formally established Body By Bree Fit itself is fairly new, I have been training, teaching, and inspiring a range or clientele for nearly 10 years, ranging from professional athletes to the “everyday athlete.”
Body By Bree Fit was established as an avenue to branch out and reach and help a greater number of people. It was created as a way to help others stop wishing and to start doing, and to master habits that will lead to a LIFETIME of energy, vibrance, strength, and power.
I work with both individuals and groups, helping them achieve their unique goals, in a healthy, comprehensive, and habit-based manner. As stated above, I believe that your fitness and nutrition habits should be nourishing, enjoyable, and maintainable… because we all want results that are healthy and here to stay!
I am currently working to expand the Body By Bree Fit services and am especially focusing on developing a new training studio concept in the near future!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not. At. All. I have always known that I want to spend my life serving and elevating the lives of others, but have greatly struggled over the past couple years to gain clarity on how I am going to contribute and help the world in my own unique, impactful way. There has been a lot of closed doors, dead ends, and confusion along the way. I am only now really starting to gain the clarity I’ve been lacking in the past.
My advice for other women is to take the time to sit down and really get clear. You cannot have a plan, a goal, or reach the highest level of success without a clear idea of where you want to go, what you want to do, and the outcome you’re working toward. The world needs something that YOU have to offer, and you’re going to be able to be much more impactful if you know what you’re aiming to do.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Body By Bree Fit story. Tell us more about the business.
While Body By Bree Fit is still new, I’m planning some exciting changes and growth in the near future. I currently specialize in comprehensive personal training and nutrition services. My approach with the services I provide, and what makes me unique compared to others out there, is my whole-self approach. We are ONE body, not a set of parts. To be truly fit and healthy, and to get optimal results, the whole body and its systems need to be functioning as strongly as possible. This means that proper fitness, nutrition, AND mindset factors need to be considered.
Aside from focusing on the body as a whole, I emphasize the importance of truly nourishing the body in ALL ways. In fact, if there was only one word to describe the focus of the Body By Bree Fit approach it would be “nourishing”. But, the word nourishing doesn’t just apply to food. Not only should our food be healthy and nourishing, but our fitness practices should be a nourishing supplement to the foods we’re eating, not something that detracts from optimal wellness. Additionally and most importantly, the thoughts we think should be nourishing to our body and spirit. Our mindset is the starting point for all positive experiences and results we wish to have, with fitness or anything else in life.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
1.Get very clear on what your desired outcome is and be as specific as possible. You’re going to find greater success if you know exactly where you are headed.
2.Don’t be in it just for the money. Rather, get clear on what really sets your soul on fire and find a way to use this passion to serve the world… the money will follow.
