We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brian Loeffler. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Brian, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I do photography in my spare time, and when I am out photographing wildlife, the night sky, or the landscape at sunrise or sunset, I do tend to forget about time. The reason is quite simple – nature puts on quite a display whether it is the Milky Way Galaxy coming up over the mountains or desert landscape, the herons getting ready to take to flight from the Lower Salt River, or the wild horses being wild horses. How can I not lose track of time when all of this is taking place?
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I have been doing wildlife, landscape, and night sky photography for close to 4 years here in Arizona, and I absolutely love it! So, I decided to sell my photos as print images on my website, and the response has been absolutely fantastic.
Right now, I am working on trip to Montana with the goal of photographing wolves and bears in the wild. I am very excited about this trip especially since the wolf population has thrived within Yellowstone National Park. If I am able to photograph these magnificent animals, then I plan to sell the photos as print images.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What an incredible question, and for me there is only one answer and that is credibility. A person or an organization’s credibility is its greatest asset or it can become its greatest liability. Staying truthful, honest, and being upfront is the only to maintaining or restoring credibility and consequently that bond between people. If credibility is lacking, then the bond will be lost.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
When I suffered, I needed to really needed to sit down and think about solutions and sometimes very quickly. What are my strengths? What could I being doing better? Where are things heading and does it concern me? When things are going well, it is human nature to not always answer these questions.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Wow! Huge believer in Benjamin Graham’s thoughts on risk and value. In other words, when something is at rock bottom, see if it worth investing in. If so, invest in it at a very low price. Never invest in something when is it at it highs as there is too much risk in it going down.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
This is an easy answer. I would move to Australia, find a job that allows me to travel around that fantastic country, and enjoy my time there while I am able to.
