Autumn Edrington shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Autumn , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are pure chaos in the best way. I’m juggling breakfast and lunches for my kids, making sure the dog and cat get fed, and even giving our little baby tortoise his warm bath. It’s loud, busy, sometimes stressful—but it’s also my favorite time because it’s gets everyone settled before my day begins. Once everyone’s good, I head to the studio to be with my community of amazing humans.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Fifteen years ago, Yoga Spot began with just an 80-minute sequence, three passionate teachers, and a dream. Today, we’re proud to offer over 60 weekly classes taught by 30+ incredible instructors, weekly workshops, teacher training, and yoga retreats.
Over the years, I’ve heard countless stories from students about how this space has helped them heal, find themselves, recover from pain, or simply become their safe place.
I’ve always believed that wellness is more than movement. Practices like sound healing, cold plunges, and infrared saunas have played a vital role in my personal journey and in the healing journeys of so many others in our community. Together, they create a holistic approach to well-being that’s at the heart of what we do.
Yoga Spot has always been about more than yoga—it’s about connection, growth, and creating a space where you feel supported and inspired. What started as a small dream has become a family, and I’m endlessly grateful to be part of it,
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I had to be perfect all the time—that mistakes meant I wasn’t good enough. Over the years, especially through becoming a mom, running a business, and my own wellness journey, I’ve realized that growth comes from the messiness. Sometimes a lot of messiness. Mistakes aren’t failures, they’re teachers. Now I believe my strength comes from showing up as authentically as possible, not flawlessly. This is where strength and connection are born.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
The last time I changed my mind about something important was when the space next door to my studio became available again. For years, I always said no to expansion—it felt too big, too risky. But when the opportunity opened once more, I finally said yes. That decision allowed our studio to grow in ways that truly serve our community. We were able to add Heated Pilates, Sculpt, HIIT, and more Yin—creating new pathways for people to connect with themselves in the way they need most. It taught me that sometimes the opportunities we resist are the very ones that invite us into the next chapter with purpose.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what really matters to me are my people—my kids, true friendships, our yoga community, and creating spaces where others feel safe and supported. We all need this in our lives.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m not on my yoga mat, I feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by nature—whether it’s hiking, sitting by the creek at our cabin, or just being still outside. Those are the moments when everything slows down, and I can just breathe, feel grateful, and be fully present.
