We’re looking forward to introducing you to Victoria Vacala. Check out our conversation below.
Victoria, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up, set my intentions, and think about what I am grateful for. I perform my daily self-massage, also known as Abyangha, and oil pulling. I shower, meditate. I then make my coffee and look at my phone.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Victoria Vacala, founder of Om Reset® — the virtual yoga and meditation studio built for busy humans who barely have time to breathe, let alone commute to a studio.
We offer 30-minute live classes with real-time teacher interaction, so whether you’re a parent grabbing rare minutes between naps, a nurse shaking off a night shift, or an office warrior chained to your desk, you can reset your mind and body anytime, anywhere.
No commute. No judgment. All connection.
Currently, I’m passionate about introducing Om Reset to individuals and into more corporate wellness programs because I believe well-being shouldn’t be reserved for people with spare time and expensive memberships. Everyone deserves a moment to reset — and I’m on a mission to make that possible.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a girl who wanted to be a doctor, fascinated by how the human body works and how people heal.
However, when I entered college, I discovered that chemistry was not my love language. So, I pivoted and became an accountant, working my way up from staff accountant to supporting a CFO.
Then life threw me a curveball — or, more accurately, a gym injury that left me in excruciating back pain. My neurologist advised me to avoid surgery if I could, so I went through physical therapy and pain management. Within a week, I felt a sense of relief.
Curious and hopeful, I stepped into my first yoga class… and got completely hooked. For five years, I practiced regularly, watching as my body and mind transformed. One day, a teacher mentioned a yoga training and Ayurveda wellness counseling program. I was hesitant, but my gut told me to check it out. I signed up and embarked on nine months of deep learning, and my entire career and life changed. I may not be a doctor, but I am in the business of healing.
Today, I’m the founder of Om Reset®, helping busy people reset their minds and bodies — just like I once needed — so they can live pain-free, centered, and fully present in their lives
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back most in life has been the feeling that I’m not good enough. It started in my teenage years, when I thought I had to be someone else in order to fit in or to be liked. I worried about being popular and often second-guessed myself.
In my early adulthood, that fear began to creep into my relationships. I was scared I’d never get married, which made me insecure and anxious around people I cared about.
Everything shifted the day I truly realized my now-husband loved me for exactly who I am. That changed my life — and our relationship — for the better.
Later on, I went through a tough period where some friends bullied me. But by then, I’d learned that their behavior wasn’t about me — it was about them.
Today, I know who I am. And I finally believe that being myself is more than enough.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is me. I show up the same way, whether I’m teaching a class, online, or sitting at home in sweatpants. What you see is my authentic self, no hidden mask or act. I believe life’s too short to be anyone else.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My name, my role, or my possessions do not define me. I’m defined by who I am at my core.
So if I were to lay all those things down, I’d still be here — the same person who loves deeply, believes in helping others feel better in their bodies and minds, and knows my worth comes from within.
