We’re looking forward to introducing you to Reagan Briggs. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Reagan, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Absolutely! The phrase “Let me sleep on it” exists for a reason in my world. There are moments in both my career and personal life where your gut says yes right away, and you know your answer right then of what to do. But there are also times when pausing is the smarter move. Sometimes that reflection is necessary. I like to list out any concerns and work through them one by one before deciding. For example, earlier this summer I faced what looked like a fantastic partnership opportunity. From the outside, it seemed perfect — but my gut said to pause. I slept on it, and the very next day, those lovely little red flags and blaring alarms started to appear. Taking that extra time quite literally saved my business. You’ll never regret pausing before blindly trusting.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
First off, it’s an honor to be back here with VoyagePhoenix! My name is Reagan Briggs, and if this is our first time connecting, I’m an almost-native Arizonian who has somehow turned my Type A, detail-driven brain into my superpower. I’m the proud owner of Encore Mixology, the valley’s premier mobile mixology choice. From corporate events to bachelorette parties, we bring craft cocktails and mocktails straight to you, with service options that let you sit back and enjoy or even roll up your sleeves and join in. Outside of Encore, I also run Briggs Body and have been building a career in real estate (Reagan Briggs Real Estate) since 2020. I’m grateful every day to work across industries I love and excited to share how I got here and also what’s ahead!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Hands down, this would be my parents. They instilled a strong work ethic in me from the start. I was raised with a mix of structure and fun — life was about doing your job well, then enjoying the fruits of your labor. I watched both of them grow in their careers, take risks, and create new paths for themselves. Their example gave me the confidence to pursue entrepreneurship, and for that I’m beyond grateful.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“You’re never going to feel like you’ve done enough, and that’s okay. It’s a tough statement to swallow, but it’s just going to push you more.”
I’ve always been my toughest critic, constantly pushing for the next step — more marketing, bigger events, better execution. For a long time, I thought that restlessness was a flaw. Now, I know that I should be grateful that I never want to settle for mediocrity and that my natural wiring is perfect for a business owner. My Type A brain keeps me moving forward and striving to be better. I’ll sleep later — for now, let’s build.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Fads can be fun, but they’re not a replacement for true foundations. Some trends I fully embrace and some I absolutely pass on (Looking at you, low-rise jeans). But the real, lasting habits are the ones that keep us grounded: working hard, making ethical choices, building consistency, and seeking growth. The sweet spot is when you can blend a trend with a foundation. Take ChatGPT — it’s an incredible tool, but I balance it with “old-school” brainstorming because exercising creativity and individuality will never go out of style. You can’t replace nor replicate good old-fashioned hard work.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I can confidently say that I’m doing what I was born to do. My “old” soul thrives on building, curating, and creating in all aspects of business plus personal life. I was fortunate to grow up in an environment where hard work and entrepreneurial thinking were encouraged, and my parents gave me the space to explore that fully. That foundation let me to create businesses like Encore Mixology, and it continues to drive me today. I was born to take on challenges, carve my own path, and keep building forward — and I’m grateful every single day for that. Excited to chat again soon!
