An Inspired Chat with Jazmynn Vaughn of Washington DC

Jazmynn Vaughn shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Jazmynn, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I snooze my alarm that goes off every 30 minutes, and my cat is meowing on my chest staring at me with her big green eyes to tell me it’s time to wake up and time to eat.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey I’m jaz! I’m a fashion and beauty creator that loves to style outfits, get all dolled up in my room and inspire other women. I was laid off from my full the job and decided to take content creation head on. Since I’ve made that leap I’ve been working with brands like Lulu’s, Tower 28, and Black Radiance to name a few. I’ve also been trying to expand my brand and offer my styling and social media marketing packages to other creators or entrepreneurs.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My MOM. Her work ethic is on the level of Kris Jenners. Growing up she was a young single mom working her butt off everyday to give us opportunities that we are able to have right now.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That resilience is the end all be all. If you can continue to get back up that’s what you’re going to remember the next time you suffer. Suffering is inevitable but when your able to look back and say all those times before I suffered and I’m still standing today that’s what’s going to keep you going.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Content creation or social media is the goal and embarassing yourself to the public is the only way to make money

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Criticizing my self, holding myself back from doing things I truly want and wish to do, hold myself back from traveling, stop saying I don’t have time for family or friends
